It gets better.
Truly it does.
Your Senator has run a historical campaign that goes down in the history books, win or lose.
I was on the losing side in 2008. I know how you're feeling and I respect it.
But truly, it will get better and you may find that the Hillary supporter who was your mortal enemy is actually a good human being.
Bernie has run an amazing campaign and will be a guiding force in our country for many years to come.
Kudos to both you and Senator Sanders. you have made history and changed the nature of the
debate and our country.

(740 posts)...at the end of the last primary I had lost all interest in it because my candidate hadn't won but I watched the convention anyway because I was terrified she was going to do something stupid and somehow 'seize' power (those RW talking points are insidiously, stealthily invasive) and then she did that amazing thing she did and I was suddenly interested in the election again.
Don't lose your determination! Just try to understand that 'incrementalism' (is that a thing?) really helps avoid the backlash effect; the more quickly things change the more people, in quantity and effort, resist it.
I voted for Sanders today. Hillary won my precinct. I voted for Obama over Hillary in 2008. Obama won my precinct.
If Hillary is the nominee in November, and she probably will be, I will relish voting for the first female POTUS.
She is very qualified.
And, I'll be honest, I look forward to all the pouting faces Republicans will make when there's another Clinton in the White House. In fact the same Clintons! I know its mean, but given how awful they were to Bill and especially Hillary in the 90s, It will be nice seeing them uncomfortable again.

Another war or two, a contented Wall Street, and business as usual. Fuck everybody else.
Bet on it.

(27 posts)It's important that his voice and ideas continue to be heard - otherwise it will be another 4 to 8 years or longer before someone else who is truly progressive will get to be on the national stage. The primaries are an opportunity for dissenting voices to be heard about the future of the Democratic Party (with relatively minimal repercussions, unlike the general election).
I initially supported Hillary, but after awhile I decided I really had to listen to my heart. As a woman she would obviously be a historic first for our country and fear of the Republican opponent should scare anyone to vote for her ... but beyond that, what inspiring vision does she have for the country?
Bernie will be our party's only viable candidate if things turn south for Hillary. This election season has already brought so many surprises, and unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised if things do turn south for her (i.e., her investigation).
