The ticket needs balancing, with someone from the west, or south, or southwest, who is younger.

He could probably negotiate for Secretary of Labor if he wanted it.

None of Bernie's ideas would never be allowed, nor would Hillary ever
accept Bernie as a VP.

I suspect Julian Castro is the heavy favorite. Personally I would like to see E. Warren or barring that, someone from out west like Gavin Newsom or Kamala Harris, or one of our Senators like Wyden or Merkeley.

I guess he.... and we .....could sit around waiting for an Ambassador Hotel moment; but that would make him .....and us.... as morally and ethically moribund as the other side.

Lots of good choices among politicians who haven't spent 40 years telling people "My way or the highway."

Let me count the ways.

1. A VEEP is chosen to help strategy in the general election. Usually that means choosing one from an area of the country where one needs some support.

2. When age might be an issue, one chooses a younger VEEP.

3. Bernie is not likely to accept it because I think he would rather work with a Clinton administration from the floor of the US Senate. And Hillary is not likely to offer it anyway. (And no! Not Elizabeth Warren either!)

There have been many speculations on who Hillary might select if she obtains the nomination. I think, if she does, she may surprise us. (Hopefully positively.)

Full stop!

Hillary is not very likely to ask Bernie Sanders to be her VEEP if she gets the nomination. And it will have nothing whatsoever to do with their differences during the campaign. And Bernie will agree.

It is like the folks here who see Elizabeth Warren as VEEP for every Dem presidential nominee when she has made it very clear that she wants to be a US Senator. I think, if Bernie loses the nomination, he will be happy serving the remainder of his term as a US Senator. He may even get reelected for another term.

If Hillary wants to win in November, she will choose a younger running mate from a different area of the country. And Bernie would agree, I would imagine.

And I'd say the same about Bernie if he'd won.

Also, he'll be able to do more in the Senate than as veep.
