2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumDelegate Counts - Red State vs Blue State
Currently, the delegate count is as follows:
Clinton 1112
Sanders 806
A difference of 306 delegates
Broken down by States that went Blue in 2012
Clinton 562
Sanders 499
A difference of 63 delegates
Broken down by States that went Red in 2012
Clinton 550
Sanders 307
A difference of 243 delegates
Clinton's biggest gain in a Blue State was Florida in which she netted a gain over Sanders of 67 delegates. Without Florida Clinton would be trailing in Blue States.
One cannot count on any Red States turning Blue in November, but one does want to secure the Blue ones. If Sanders voters do not vote for Clinton in the Fall her chance in securing the Blue States is tenuous as the even delegate counts in the Blue states attest.
In 2012 Obama won with only 62 electoral votes more than the 270 minimum. If she struggles in Michigan, and Illinois that's 36 electoral votes right there.

Look, I get why people have issues with Clinton. But the fallacious reasoning and denial of mathematical and demographic realities is not healthy.
