2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumCNN Showing 71% counted for well over an hour. 60-37 HRC
They don't want to show anything like a final count until deep into the night. This could be way closer, and the delegate count could be very close. But how would we know?

(2,427 posts)We usually see some wavering but tonight, as precincts come in, it stays static. Shenanigans? I don't know but it sure is interesting.
EDIT - I think it may just be lazy reporting.

(38,489 posts)The 60-37 number has all that HRC early voting counted. Naturally, the people in line would tend toward Bernie, so...

But here we have an early vote tally being reported by precincts who cannot yet report their counts for today (because people are still waiting to vote). I assure you that well over 500,000 voters cast their ballots today (which is the current # of Dem + Rep votes at 28% turnout per the AZ SOS page.
Do these lines look like 28% turnout to you? Me neither. Further proof all we are currently seeing is the early vote.

(38,489 posts)people waiting in line to vote?
How do you count a number you can't know, and project a "Weiner"?
Barack_America
(28,876 posts)They have counted that, and that is the "result" we're currently being shown.

DemocracyDirect
(708 posts)Votes received compared to total votes expected (based on previous year primary results).
My theory is that the number of early votes and mail-in votes was so high relative to other years, that the % reporting has been incorrect from the beginning.
Perhaps there were 2-3 times as many votes in this primary as usual.
dchill
(38,489 posts)projection hanging in the wind.
DemocracyDirect
(708 posts)And since many people in line will likely be Bernie supporters, it is likely the end result will be better for Bernie.
However there are still a variety of other disenfranchisement problems that will need to be looked at carefully.
