2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumBernie just endorsed Hillary and called for GOTV. Is everyone happy?
Of course he pointed out his chances are better because votes are worth more than money.

(6,073 posts)There are still 22 states to vote. I do see your confusion.
8 in April -- Wisconsin, Wyoming, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Delaware, Maryland.
4 in May -- Indiana, Oregon, Kentucky, West Virginia.
7 in June -- North Dakota, South Dakota, New Mexico, California, New Jersey, Montana, Washington D.C.

(4,225 posts)I caucused for Bernie in WA today, and the caucus chair mentioned something very relevant to your post.
Statewide, the caucuses will elect approximately 27,700 delegates to county/legislative district conventions, and the delegates will be further narrowed there until we have our slate of delegates to the nominating convention in Philly. (There might be one more step between LD convention and national convention; I think there is, but I don't remember with absolute certainty.)
Now, look at the raw numbers that are being reported out of WA state and compare that to the % in. Those are the COUNTY DELEGATES, not the raw vote.
We are the 13th most populous state in the union. If you were to translate those county delegates into the people who elected them today, and further consider that Bernie so far is looking at a ~50% (or slightly greater) margin, we would put a significant dent into the "2.5m more votes" meme.
Unfortunately the raw vote doesn't get reported to the media like the county delegate count does. And yes, that's part of the reason why caucuses suck, but we Washingtonians make do with the process we have. We actually tried to go to primaries, but the party establishment sued to get their caucuses back, which I explain here.

(6,073 posts)He said that they were both better than any R and and we need to get out the vote for a Democratic victory. Bill Press had just made that point on CNN when he related a private discussion with Bernie.

(12,081 posts)I will not base my vote on who Bernie endorses if he loses the nomination. I love Bernie, but this is bigger than him. I am fighting for my family's future here. I am fighting for my husband's SSDI, my son's SSI, for my family's healthcare, and for my children's education and future wages. I will base my vote on who I believe will actually fight for those things . My vote will not be based on who Bernie says I should vote for should he lose the nomination.

(6,073 posts)I fully realize everyone's vote is theirs to use as they choose. When Bernie pointed to that fact in his TYT interview there were a number of attacks on his integrity.
