Strong turnout for Hawaii Democrats leads to confusion, frustration
Stephanie Ohigashi, chairwoman of the Democratic Party of Hawaii, said polls were kept open at half-hour intervals; if no one came in for half an hour, the poll closed.
As of 4:30 p.m., she was not aware of any polling places still open. Ohigashi said she did not know how many potential voters may have been turned away.
She said turnout for the presidential preference poll was comparable to 2008 when Hawaii-born Barack Obama was running for his first term.
Ohigashi reiterated that results will be released later tonight, possibly between 7 and 8 p.m., after all precincts have reported.

(154,021 posts)When I have no idea who the people are, I take it with the proverbial grain of salt, During marches it is invaluable locally, and during a disaster... you have to be careful with it, but it can tell you where people are going to shelters etcetera.
Just be careful
And yes, I post news articles to twitter regularly as well. All local reporters do, with photos.

(154,021 posts)Hawaii Democrats gathered at crowded precincts statewide on Saturday to cast their vote in a tight race between former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders.
Hawaii Democratic Party officials said the turnout appeared to rival the numbers seen in 2008, when Hawaii-born Barack Obama squared off against Clinton in his first bid for the White House.
Democrats reported long lines at voting locations around the islands. Lines had already formed at some precincts by 11 a.m., two hours before voting started. One Twitter user said at least 100 people were gathered in Manoa Valley to vote.
And when doors opened at precincts around noon, several social media users reported standing-room only crowds.
