Bernie won over 70% of the vote. And he won ALL ethnic groups.Gwhittey
(1,377 posts)Those minorities are not non-white enough. Asians have never been discriminated in this country. And even my own Native American ancestors where given there own land for free so not really a minority.

(7,231 posts)to believe otherwise makes you a sexist racist. And if you are a woman: a Hell-bound slut lusting after millennial boys, as well.

(250 posts)The more people know about Bernie, the better he does. The Clinton campaign has benefited tremendously from the media blackout of Bernie and his message. When people see what his campaign is about and who he is as a person, the choice is easy. The corporate donors and the obvious trolls have been trying mightily to quiet his message, but people are learning. This is a movement and a fight for our future.

Vote2016
(1,198 posts)vote regardless of race.
Some play the race card to try to shut down an ideological debate they can't win. If you look at the statements of those who play the race card with the most feinting-couch drama, you - sadly - cannot rule out antisemitism as an underlying bias but fortunately the antisemitism+race card view is nearly unanimously rejected at DU.

(48,121 posts)On Sun Mar 27, 2016, 02:55 PM an alert was sent on the following post:
One of the loudest voices here on DU is just outed as a raging anti-Semite
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1251&pid=1586967
REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
This is a callout to a specific DUer, Braveneck- as they have been posting this crap everywhere. They can't get rid of her through alert stalking anymore, so they do this. Disgusting.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Sun Mar 27, 2016, 03:03 PM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: See, this alert illustrates the point perfectly. In the eyes of (far too) many people here, the problem is not that a prominent member of the site outed herself as an anti-Semite, but that other members won't pretend it didn't happen. Those members who won't politely avert their gaze from bigotry are the ones being alert stalked here.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Bravenak apologized. To then call her a "raging anti-semite" is wrong. The harassment of Bravenak over this is definitely hide-worthy. They're following her around, putting it in their sig lines, and generally behaving atrociously. Par for the course for certain people, but I vote to hide. KitS
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Seeing things? Not really hide worthy.
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: anti-semite is thrown around too much, but I don't see this as hideable
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I don't see any specific DUer called out.
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

(47,209 posts)to concede that Dem votes matter, even in the South. Lots of people here claim otherwise.
Hawaii has the lowest turnout of any state, Alaska's economy has crashed, and both those states have always been anomalies.
Sure they matter, but not as much when counting votes as more densely populated areas.

(1,198 posts)know support her because "it's her turn" after losing in 2008 and "a woman president is overdue." I know literally ZERO Hillary supporters who prefer her platform or her milky toast ideology over Sanders' or O'Malley's (or some of the least conservative Republicans like Pataki).
She's Dukakis or Kerry or Gore but with a metric shit-ton of baggage and unfavourable ratings.

And it appears that there were no entrance polls done for any of the caucuses done yesterday, so we don't know what groups he won or even if the bulk of caucus voters were minorities.

(12,689 posts)No whites voted in Hawaii. I'm very sorry for offending you.
Caucuses don't reflect the overall demographics of a state, even primary elections and general elections don't reflect the overall population of a state. The fact of it is we don't know what the breakdowns are because their were no entrance polls yesterday.
jeff47
(26,549 posts)that 75% mostly didn't bother to vote.
That's almost as believable as Clinton's healthcare plans.

(24,544 posts)Incredibly interesting point. I'm seeing all over the board about how low the turn out was in those caucuses yesterday. Your post adds another layer to consider.

(8,000 posts)70% of the measly amount of voters represented in those caucuses isn't necessarily a wide variety of demographics.
Blue_In_AK
(46,436 posts)In the United States overall, that figure is 62.6. I think that makes Alaska fairly average demographically.
