2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumCongratulations to Bernie Sanders for sweeping three states.
A great effort by his supporters won in three caucus states, so congratulations are in order.
Hillary Clinton's pledged delegate lead has been reduced, but she still has a substantial lead in pledged delegates and the popular vote. Now, we wait for the primaries in several larger states with larger delegations to the national convention.
The primary season is far from over. Going forward, there are fewer caucus states and more closed primary states. We'll see whether Bernie can maintain his new momentum and whether his supporters can conduct a GOTV campaign that gives him wins in the major states yet to vote.
As always, I'll be voting for the eventual Democratic nominee in November. I'm in observer mode at this point.

(24 posts)Bernie had a great rally in Seattle and Madison! We need the people to turn out to keep the momentum going. The outreach from the younger members of our diverse coalition to their parents and relatives is especially important. They seem locked into support Clinton and not open to Bernie's message. If we are to win that openness to message is critical in the upcoming primaries and caucuses with a high percentage of diverse voters.

(93 posts)The beginning of the end for Clinton.
People know what is happening with the Clinton campaign, and it does not look pretty.
Don't expect her to win any more states, including New York and PA.
The firewall she thought she had is completely gone.

(146,298 posts)That will tell the actual story. Either way, I'll be voting for our party's nominee in November. Either candidate will do a good job as President. More depends on Congress, really, in what can be accomplished. That's where my main focus is in every election.

(146,298 posts)Minnesota, for example, does, but Iowa does not. Only in states with paper caucus ballots are popular vote counts reported.
Of the three states yesterday, only Hawaii reports a popular vote count. The other two report delegate counts to the next level.
So, there isn't a popular voted count in some caucus states. You can check each one, along with national totals and state-by-state results at this link:

(1,198 posts)do you include and exclude when you use the phrase "popular vote"?
MineralMan
(146,298 posts)by clicking on their abbreviation. Just scroll down. The totals there are totals from all states that report popular votes. It's not my site, and not my calculations. I use that site to follow the primary results.

(1,198 posts)Has more supporters. Seems pretty misleading to call that a popular vote? Don't the votes in the states omitted count or are they second class citizens. Noticed all thevotes from the least progressive region are fully accounted for.
"You're doing a heck of a job" pushing that false popular vote lie.
MineralMan
(146,298 posts)That site's popular vote number reflect only those states that report popular vote. Simple. That is the popular vote count that is available.

(1,198 posts)Wish you had been more honest in your previous misleading discussion. I suppose you think you win support by misleading but I think you poison your own argument by misleading and set your own cause backward. I suppose we all have our own thresholds for truth and dishonesty.

(146,298 posts)That website is the most reliable source for detailed information on election results. I have nothing to do with it.
Vote2016
(1,198 posts)it's inaccuracy but you didn't type the misleading keystrokes on the scouce website. Good for you! You win today's participation medal in the Honesty Games.

(146,298 posts)There's still plenty to watch for in this primary season, so there is a but, of course.
The race is not over yet, nor will it be until every state has voted. I'll keep following the results.
