Sanders campaign: Superdelegates 'like football recruits'

(snip)

"I think what’s important to remember here is that superdelegates are kind of like football recruits," said Symone Sanders in an interview with CNN's "New Day." "You know, they say they are coming but until they have signed on the dotted line and they’re in practice, you don’t know that they’re all the way with you and that they’re on your team. And so we think that we still have time to garner support from these superdelegates, especially when we’re winning."

Sanders reeled off three large victories in the Hawaii, Alaska and Washington state caucuses on Saturday, pulling the Vermont senator closer to Clinton in the overall delegate count.

"You can’t win like we won this past weekend and how we intend to continue to do well in these nominating contests and not expect superdelegates to take a second look," Symone Sanders said. "So we are focused on winning votes, winning the endorsement, if you will, of the American people. And we are hopeful and confident that those superdelegates will come along."

Those comments echo the words of the candidate himself, who on Sunday told NBC's "Meet the Press" that momentum is on his side, such that "I think a lot of the superdelegates are now beginning to look at which Democratic candidate is in the best place to defeat Donald Trump. I think some of them are beginning to understand that it's Bernie Sanders."

I like the odds, HRC supporters seem to want to twist and spin the remaining 22, why is that? LOL

He wasn't supposed to be 'winning' anything at the start, then he did, shifting of the goalposts by HRC supports reminds me of the shifting policies that HRC has herself over all these years

I guess HRC supporters are just following the example of their candidate very closely...

(4 if you count Democrats Abroad, which Bernie won)

Florida, Arizona, an Louisiana. It's a small sample size from which to project that Sanders can't win any. From what I read, he might well have won Arizona except for all the early voting that went Hillary's way... i.e. many votes that may have been cast even before Bernie's campaign began in earnest. Looking at the people who actually voted on election day, Bernie apparently did quite well.

It's Sanders who needs the exposure, and it's not like Clinton is obligated to give it to him just because he wants it. I'm sure Sanders wants some air time to roll out some fresh zingers or whatever, but the debates don't exist at Sanders' convenience.

I get it, your candidate and his campaign have to "punch up" to get some media attention. That doesn't make Clinton afraid to face him. She's faced him plenty so far, and won more often than she lost when it comes to debating.

The fact remains, Clinton doesn't need to debate Sanders to win NY.

Furthermore debates aren't for the candidates, they're for the people and the democratic process.

Why is Hillary afraid of Bernie having more exposure?

As to who won the previous debates, there is a major disconnect between the people on the Internet in real time and the conflict of interest corporate media conglomerate pundits, one can't underestimate the power of their propaganda.

If Sanders wanted a NY debate so badly, he should have scheduled it months ago. He didn't, so now he's stuck without one. Not Clinton's problem, at this point.

Citing post-debate online polls only makes you look un-serious in this debate. Real polling has evidence behind it. Real polling can be independently verified. Real polling uses proven methodology. Online polling? Not so much.

Bernie Sanders challenges Hillary Clinton to debate in Brooklyn
Updated: Sunday, January 31, 2016, 12:09 PM

Bernie Sanders wants Hillary Clinton to prove her Brooklyn values — with a debate.

The Sanders campaign abruptly challenged Clinton to debate in the borough, where Sanders grew up and where Clinton has her campaign headquarters.

The request came as the neck-and-neck Democratic presidential contenders are figuring out where to hold their upcoming debates.

(snip)

The Sanders campaign shot back that Flint is fine — so long as Clinton agrees to squaring off in Brooklyn.

Sanders is “pleased to do” the Michigan debate, his campaign said in a statement, “provided the Clinton campaign will agree to Brooklyn, New York, on April 14.”

Furthermore the Internet Polls and focus groups were held in real time, not post debate such as "scientific" polls held days later after much corporate media conglomerate pundit propaganda had its effect.

As an example of the propaganda that I speak of, note in the following real time poll that Tapper and Lemon use the term "kids" five times in under 1 minute and 40 seconds to disparage their own Facebook poll in real time because the people overwhelmingly believed that Bernie had won.

The average age on Facebook is well into the 30s if not cracking 40.
