... imagine if Bernie was indicted for some reason, do you really think people would turn away from him? I think the hope of an indictment comes from the most cynical wing of Bernie's supporters.

An indictment of a candidate would sink ANY campaign, including Hillary and Bernie.

If this was the other way around and it was Sanders, the MSM would point to this weekend's results and say 'the effect of the email scandal is taking it's toll on the campaign. Tied in Iowa, now down 70/30 in ID, WA, AK, etc. The email/FBI thing has dropped her numbers 40 points.'

This campaign season has been like watching from front-row seats the unfolding of the future Orwell warned us about. 5 straight wins and Sanders should quit ?!

I've seen wishful speculation at Republican websites, rightwing pundits are praying, an awful lot of unsubstantiated forum chatting about the endless streams of opining GOP apparatchiks, but "Gawker"... really, that's the lede?

Relevant tidbit about where we are going

“The interviews are critical to understand the volume of information they have accumulated,” said James McJunkin, former head of the FBI's Washington field office. “They are likely nearing the end of the investigation and the agents need to interview these people to put the information in context. They will then spend time aligning these statements with other information, emails, classified documents, etc., to determine whether there is a prosecutable case."

I have asked people with a clue if this should make her nervous. She is a lawyer so she likely knows what this means. Let's just say the FBI has the answers, they will be handing out rope. That is what my decoder ring and that of other folks locally read into this.

By the way, some of us said this was going to happen months ago. This is entering the final stage, and I do not envy the administration, small scandal, or huge scandal, but scandal nevertheless.

The article does not appear to substantiate your view, that was why I asked it there was any news story that factually pointed to the much ballyhooed fiction of an actual "indictment".

The point in any investigation is to determine whether there is a prosecutable case. And in the subsequent paragraphs immediately following the one you found most advantageous, the article notes that Clinton faces little risk of being prosecuted because using a private email system was not banned at the time, and were others in the State Dept and government also using personal email to transact official business.

The article concludes that even "if prosecutors determine that she did, chances she will be found criminally liable are low." My own view is that the FBI will not use their unbiased investigation to lend credence to something that is so flagrantly politically driven.

[div class="excerpt"

Many legal experts believe that Clinton faces little risk of being prosecuted for using the private email system to conduct official business when she served as secretary of State, though that decision has raised questions among some about her judgment. They noted that using a private email system was not banned at the time, and others in government had used personal email to transact official business.

...

“Those cases are just so different from what Clinton is accused of doing,” Vladeck said. “And the Justice Department lawyers know it.”

While she is not likely to face legal jeopardy, the emails could cause some political heartburn when the aides are questioned. However, short of an indictment or an explosive revelation, the controversy is not likely to alter the overall dynamics of the primary race or general election, political observers said.

Sooner or later hard core supporters will have to decide, clinton or the country? Ah the parallels to the 1970s...

What am I, 12 years old that I'm supposed to be cut to the quick with a silly retort like that? C'mon, I don't care who you are supporting (hopefully it's a Democrat) but I won't demean your choice, or question your reasons, your intellect, or sanity even if it means the whole country vanishes into a giant sinkhole... due to fracking, of course.

Then go below the video and click on the button in the middle of the page "more".

That will drop down the info, and she is pretty organized with her facts.
