The main reason is because he says his plans rely on millions of previously disinterested people getting involved in politics.
The turnout in the primaries proves that isn't happening. Bernie's rallies are not driving up voter turnout.
The supers know we have to increase our chances through electing Democrats to office. Hillsry is supporting that. Bernie hasn't shared one cent with other Dems.
He said he is running as a Dem for convenience. He relies on independents for wins.
So the super delegates are about electing Dems to office. Bernie is not. They will not flip to him.

No, they will not switch if he trails in pledged delegates, they will not follow their state results and they will not follow the popular vote winner.

The bigger issue is he is far behind in pledged delegates and popular votes. So that should be the main focus.
