2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHillary won't diminish connections to Foundation as POTUS
Rachel's last question to Hillary was about the appearance of possible impropriety when the Foundation recruits (large) donors from foreign countries and U.S. who might appear to be seeking favors or connections from her position as nominee or POTUS. (Such as the Saudis getting arms deals after donating money.)
Answer: We will just continue to be transparent, as we have been for years.
Hmmmmm. I guess it means a full casino of pay to play.

(58,355 posts)This is especially troublesome for a high ranking one; Secretary of State to do so, it shows no respect for transparency.
Thanks for the thread, grasswire.

Good catch, grasswire. Can you find a transcript or something? We should document that for posterity.
I assumed that she would say something along the lines of if she was elected president, she and Bill would break all ties with the Clinton Foundation to avoid any possible appearance of conflict of interest. The fact she wouldn't say that shows incredible hubris.
The mind boggles with the possilibities of quid pro quo corruption!

(50,130 posts)...can't remember which word she used. Hillary said nope. She doesn't want to lose all the opportunities for doing good in the world that the Foundation provides, and all the creativity of the staff yada yada.
I will look for video Thursday, Paul.
