As though nobody can look up the donations to the SuperPACs supporting her, donations to the Clinton Foundation, and see that there are a hell of a lot more donations coming in from fossil fuel companies than just "individuals".

Approximately one in every 15 dollars given to Priorities USA Action, which took in $50.5 million in contributions last year, came from donors linked to oil and natural gas interests, according to data compiled by Greenpeace.
But fossil fuel interests are also sending checks directly to her campaign. Clinton has take in nearly $268,000 in contributions from individuals employed in the oil and gas sector this election cycle, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

(5,861 posts)Edit - Explanation in the video description
"At a Hillary Clinton rally at SUNY Purchase campus today, the presidential candidate lost her patience with a Greenpeace activist who thanked her for her commitment to climate change then asked her whether she'll reject fossil fuel money moving forward. Pointing her finger at activist Eva Resnick-Day, Clinton claimed she only takes money from people who work for fossil fuel companies and called the accusations lies."
Can this claim be verified? Also that does not seemed to like a huge difference. Just semantics.

(39,961 posts)Had her finger right in that young woman's face for asking if she would keep her campaign promise and in the future reject donations from fossil fuel companies.
She was about to say no, but then switched it to "I have donors who work in the fossil fuel industry". As though there aren't major corporate donors. She tried to get all huffy like "they are just individual donors!"
I'll bet she is sick of Greenpeace, Democrats, the Sanders campaign, and everybody that is concerned about the environment + climate change questioning her commitment to her campaign promises.
Secretary Clinton, normal people who are concerned about climate change are rightly skeptical about your commitment to protecting the environment given your support for Keystone XL, fracking, and the big dollar donations you, your various SuperPACs and the Clinton Foundation has received from many different fossil fuel companies.
Irate at a Greenpeace activist for asking the question that anybody with a grain of sense would ask if they care about the environment.

<edit>
Clintons email hairball foreshadows her character as President. As ScottW comments: Clinton did what Clinton wanted to do. And thats regardless of what she said, and despite advice given to her in good faith. So if Clinton wants TPP, a Grand Bargain, or war in [insert country here], thats what shell go for, regardless of what she says on the trail, or the counsel of the wise.

Greenpeace.org says:

^snip^
First there are the direct contributions from people working for fossil fuel companies to Hillary Clintons campaign committee. According to the most recent filings, the committee has received $309,107 (as of 3/21/16; source: Center for Responsive Politics) from such donors
Next are the fossil fuel lobbyists, many of whom have also bundled contributions. These donations also flow to Hillary Clintons campaign committee. Greenpeace has tracked $1,259,280 in bundled and direct donations from lobbyists currently registered as lobbying for the fossil fuel industry. This number excludes donations from lobbyists who are employed directly by a fossil fuel companies, as those donations would have been included in the previous number.
Last are contributions from fossil fuel interests to Super PACs supporting Hillary Clinton. Greenpeace has found $3,250,000 in donations from large donors connected to the fossil fuel industry to Priorities Action USA, a Super PAC supporting Secretary Clintons campaign.
All told, the campaign to elect Hillary Clinton for president in 2016 has received more than $4.5 million from lobbyists, bundlers, and large donors connected the fossil fuel industry.
So, unless Greenpeace is lying....
