Hillary Clinton Raises Less Than Bernie Sanders for Third Month in a Row

http://www.nytimes.com/politics/first-draft/2016/04/04/hillary-clinton-raises-less-than-bernie-sanders-for-third-month-in-a-row/

Hillary Clinton raised $29.5 million in March, her campaign announced on Monday, far less than the $44 million raised by Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont during the same period.

The totals make March the third month in a row that Mr. Sanders has raised more than Mrs. Clinton, despite her lead in delegates and the support of most of the Democratic Party’s major donors. Mrs. Clinton also raised $6.1 million for the Democratic National Committee and state parties, money that now accounts for a large portion of the national party’s monthly revenue.

Mrs. Clinton’s campaign said that half of the donations came online but did not reveal what proportion of the overall money came from donors giving less than $200, a common benchmark for grass-roots fund-raising strength.

go forward together. Bernie's got a pretty good money raising machine. He can make up for some of it.

If he's going to get some of the things he wants done, a lot of Democrats need to be elected.

As long as the DNC is corrupt, I think he's wise to stay clear of them until after the primary.

If the DNC had been willing to do as their charter says - without bias, I'd feel differently.

Maybe as the effective party leader he can get DWS tossed.

I didn't say they had to give Bernie a dime (as I understand it, they have helped Hillary ...)

Going forward, Bernie could help them raise money to help the candidates down the ticket. That's all. He'll have a bunch of donors that are probably holding back for the same reason. And a bunch who have maxed out for Bernie and could help the Democrats. That's the kind of help I'm thinking of: bury the hatchet and work together to get as many Dems elected as possible.

What little I've had to give to Bernie's campaign is intended for Bernie's campaign, not DWS's dinos. Frankly I'd be pissed as hell if he gave my $$ to DWS's bffs.

Not a joke. It was a lame attempt circa February to try to even the optics.

Millions of small Bernie donors made her look bad due to the fact she has fewer, yet bigger dollar donors. She pleaded in an email for supporters to give but one dollar to lower her per dollar contributions.

Fortunately, the American voter isn't easily bought.

and yet, the more money she spends on ads, the more people remember how much they despise her.

Bernie has to outspend Hillary. Aside from the virtual media blackout, he's only been running for President for a year, not plotting, conniving and angling for it for it for years and years and years.
