The internal data for both campaigns must be showing a tighter race that expected in New York. Let's keep fighting like hell!

(9,688 posts)Saying that she was tearing down the party with her insane negativity.
My lord, she even invoked the possibility that Obama would be assassinated, as a reason for staying in the race and pushing her negativity.
She isn't paid to quit.
In this case, she's winning. What in the world would make anyone think that she'd quit and go home?
Believe it, she'll pull off EVERY dirty trick right to the last moment, to win.
Then, if she wins the Dem primary, the Dems will lose to the Republicans.

(14,459 posts)But if they lose NY, there's nothing they can do at that point that would salvage her campaign. The final battle snuck up on them.

(9,688 posts)He has to wipe Hillary Clinton out in California.
It's a long road still ahead but I think he will do it.
But he will NEVER be in the front runner delegate-wise/establishment-wise/MSM-wise that HRC has been in from the start. He'll have to take it right to the very end and she will NEVER drop out. NEVER. Perhaps not even after California clinches elected delegates to be in favor of Sanders.
Other than sudden health issue (hope not,) or this Panama Papers leak did actually expose something (wouldn't be surprised,) she's not going to drop out anytime soon, even if she loses NY.

Can't wait for these big-gun attacks to come bounding out of the Clinton camp.
Then finally, when these attacks are nothing but bullshit and Brock's bizarre talking points--we can all finally agree that Bernie has been vetted and that there is no "there" there.

(9,688 posts)I think Sanders is already on top of it.
He had it correct from the beginning: focus exclusively on issues, on the issues that should be set in stone. Like single payer universal health care. Like a sane, progressive interaction with the world, with fair trade policies that protect worker's rights, the environment, and protect the right of democratic governments to negotiate universally, for all the people, fair prices for pharmaceuticals. Like the right to an education fit for the times. The right to child care and paid maternity leave. All of these are no-brainers, and by focusing on these he is winning.

(14,255 posts)care what you think of Reddit. Redditors for Bernie have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for him, phone-banked, gone door-to-door, coordinated GOTV. And if all you can add to a conversation is "lol", then a lot more people than me will have you on full ignore.

(14,255 posts)My grandson is a redditor. He knows about current events before I do, and discusses them intelligently. Their Bernie for President sub-reddit is fantastic. I don't care who thought of it, doesn't negate the good they are doing.
That would be a really really extravagantly stupid thing to do, too - insulting 222,299 (at last count, 10000 or so online right now.) possible/probable voters. On second thought, please do that!

(5,128 posts)the "Fracktivists". Hill just might lose.
Possibly overestimated how much she is loved.
Quite possibly.
delrem
(9,688 posts)How can a politician overestimate that? That's a lot of love.
Then on top of that there's her Foundation, which establishes her and her family as philanthropists acting in the greatest tradition of private philanthropy. She's beloved by the House of Saud, who show their concern for humanity and especially the rights of women by contributing to the Clinton Foundation. This is not just charity, it is a kind of charity which serves the interests of the Democratic Party. Who can doubt that the Clinton Foundation leads the world in championing the cause of women's rights?

(5,128 posts)I think it is possible that Hill might, just maybe have overestimated how much she is loved in her new "home" state.
Earlier today I heard her speaking in PA. She is from Scranton too!! Let's see now, Chicago, Little Rock, Scranton, NY....... ...
Anyplace else?

(9,086 posts)If she loses her "home" state, the second biggest state, with a ton of delegates, the voters and everyone in the media will have to take notice and discuss what exactly is her problem.
It would really position Bernie for possible wins going forward. Winning by a small margin wouldn't change the delegate math much, but it would still be a huge symbolic victory and set us up well for the next round of states.

(10,150 posts)They've been telling us they have 2.5 million more votes for weeks.
... which most of us with half a brain know as they know: that's meaningless BS.
That's partly why they're worried.
If they lose the elected delegates, Hillary's campaign is in real trouble. Even if they persuaded the super delegates to overturn the elected result, the party would be so fractured, particularly after her damn the torpedoes, nuke the party and talk about it after approach, that she couldn't pull it together. And there's no way a fractured Dem party will get her elected president becaise Independents and Republicans hate her and don't trust her. 72% of Independents voted for Bernie last night.
I think PA is now close enough that Bernie (down only 6 before campaigning there) can take it. Rhode Island and Connecticut (in spite of Annie Oakley playing the Sandy Hook card) are close to Vermont and New Hampshire. I suspect Bernie will take those.
Next up is New York - two weeks away and Bernie was within 11 before a Wisconsin bounce. Maybe what they're seeing is it's just got a lot closer and New York is tipping towards Bernie
I think she's in good shape to win Maryland and probably Delaware with the large black populations. But it's the north and Bernie will probably be able to keep it fairly tight in those two states.
It may be that April ends with Hillary allegedly winning a still contested election in Arizona and winning just Maryland and Delaware ... while Bernie takes the other 12 contests and tightens the race considerably.
The problem for Hillary is: a lot of the states left are pretty white - some may be landslide territory. So Bernie is very likely going to continue to rack up those states and close the delegate gap even more.
He's only 11 pts down in California with 475 delegates up for grabs. He's now a threat to finish her off there.
Having said that, as we saw in Wisconsin, delegates are hard to pile up unless you get a landslide. So the advantage still belongs to Hillary. But they're worried because they can't finish him off any time soon, they're having trouble keeping up financially and Bernie's campaign is not dead - he can still win the elected delegate contest.
After Maryland and Delaware, Bernie could run the table because there's no more big black vote to bail her out. She may well be in considerable trouble.
