I always thought Sanders was a decent person, but I'm starting to think he may be a jerk

I've always respected Sanders and have felt no ill will toward him. Even my criticisms of his campaign have not been directed at him personally but instead at his approach and, often, the behavior and attitudes of some of his supporters. Nevertheless, I liked him and, although he wasn't my first choice, I would have had absolutely no problem voting for him if he got the nomination.

But in the last few days, Sanders has changed his comments and tone and he's acting and sounding like an ass. I'm hoping that this is just a strange but temporary detour and that he'll get back on track and go back to behaving with some dignity and decency since I don't want to dislike him and I certainly don't want to see him turn the Democratic race into a version of the Republican circus. We're better than that - and I think he is, too.

Bernie, please don't prove me wrong. This isn't good for you or us or any of the things you care about.

Truly.

I've known for quite some time how corrupt and evil Clinton is and how fundamentally-disqualified she is from serving as President...and I wouldn't wish that on any Democrat. It's like learning that Mickey Mouse at WDW is just some drunk in a costume.

It's awful to see this truth so clearly. A light so clear and pure it feels like razor blades.

I didn't support her in 2008 and wouldn't this time except as the lesser of two evils - until Jan.

I think I had the benefit of being for Edwards in 2008 and then pulled the lever for Obama, and I didn't fully grasp the level of her corruption and lies until Jan of this year.

But yes, it's stunning.

What's so weird though is supposed democrats that back her because she's Hillary and ignore her record and lies, or the ones that yell about party loyalty above all else.

it is factually accurate.

The Clinton Machine can not say we are going to disqualify Sanders and defeat him even if it means destroying party unity and then scream we are the victims now when the Sanders campaign fights back.

It's the latest chapter in Clinton's approach to Sanders. She's tried ignoring him, brushing him aside, gently dismissing his policies. The Clinton campaign has refrained from going nuclear on Sanders, aides say, in large part to keep at least some good will alive in hopes of unifying the party at the end of the primary fight.

READ: Clinton on Sanders: 'I'm not even sure' he is a Democrat

No more, a top adviser told CNN. The fight is on. Extending an olive branch to Sanders' supporters "will come later," an adviser said.
It's a new moment in this Democratic primary fight, with the Clinton campaign poised to dramatically escalate its criticism of Sanders in the coming days.

No one expects Sanders hardcore supporters to object to anything he says or find fault in him at all. But his decision to become the Never Hillary Naderite figure will not play well with actual Democrats who aren't smitten with him.

By his standards, as he articulated them last night, Donald Trump and Pat Buchanan are more qualified to be president than Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

That's all you need to know as to whether he's a real Democrat or a third party saboteur.

"Bernie Sanders says Clinton not qualified" is the headline.

Not his policy claims. That he says a woman who is the most qualified candidate to run for the office in the last half century, if ever, is not qualified.

Something he has not said about Donald Trump or George W. Bush.

In fact, by his criteria--Iraq, protectionism, Panama trade deal, not having a Super PAC, Trump is more qualified than Clinton. As would be Pat Buchanan.

Also not qualified by his standards: Barack Obama (Clinton implemented the deal as Obama's secretary of state).

he's going to force Obama into rebuking his out of line comments.

New York (CNN)Hillary Clinton's campaign is taking new steps to try and disqualify Bernie Sanders in the eyes of Democratic voters, hoping to extinguish the argument that he is an electable alternative for the party's presidential nomination.
As Sanders took a victory lap following a 14-point triumph in Wisconsin, Clinton took fresh aim at the Vermont senator as part of a three-part strategy before the New York primary on April 19: Disqualify him, defeat him, and unify the party later.

It would have been nice if you all had followed your candidate's lead and elevated the tone of your online debates, but sadly, it seems that instead, he's following yours.

You can say that Sanders is not even a decent person but in fact really a jerk.

And if we push back against your bullshit comments, then we should follow our candidate's lead and elevate the tone in online debates?

Fuck me, you are a hoot! You are not even consistent even within your own damned thread. You swing a punch and then when others throw one back you get all holier than thou. Typical narcissistic bullying behavior by Clinton and apparently now her followers.

.. Not snarky! He connected her qualification to be pres. to her actions and her taking very large sums of money from Wallstreet as well as her use of supper pacs also he questioned her vote to go to war in Iraq. He showed that he has a backbone able to stand up to what ever is thrown at him ether by Hillary, Trump, Cruse or whom ever. When Bernie says he will have our back we now have seen that he has the abality not just to take it but to dish it, he can protect our back so I will protect his.

Did anyone ever get the (mistaken) impression that you are an ass?

It's because people are complex and have many sides.

Whether or not those sides are shown speaks to a person's honesty as much as it does to their character.

We all have buttons.

Personally, I think sending 2000 Americans to their death in an illegal war and making 15 millions dollars off for profit colleges is pretty "jerky" but hey we all have are different standards.

He doesn't deserve goodwill and comity toward his campaign because of the arrogance and superiority he's displayed toward his rival and anyone who dares support her.

Question - have you actually seen him behaving like a jerk in person? I have not seen that.

It's interesting to me how a man who has lived his life in true service to others and has a good reputation among his colleagues (on both sides) would SUDDENLY become a jerk at 74 years old.

Think about it.
