An Open Letter to Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT)

Dear Senator Sanders,

Waking up this morning to the news that you have labelled Hillary Clinton “Unqualified” to be President of the United States has literally left me sick to my stomach.

You know, not the “Oh, I had bad guacamole last night” feeling, or the “I shouldn’t have eaten the entire pint of Ben and Jerry’s,” but the, “We’re going to lose to Ted Cruz and everything we’ve worked so hard for over the last thirty years is going to go to hell,” feeling.

Senator, I am a supporter of Secretary Clinton. I have made no secret of that, and have been for decades. In 2008, I was a vocal supporter of hers in the primary, and gladly unified behind Barack Obama when he won the nomination. Part of a primary process is debating positions, debating issues and ultimately coming together behind the nominee.

I appreciate you, Senator. ..............I have applauded as you have moved the needle and the conversation to the left, staking out critical territory on income inequality and helping to bring these issues to the forefront of the conversation. ........

But yesterday, you infuriated me. And yet, I will still support you if you are the nominee of the Democratic Party, because the differences between Left and Right are still so deep and clear, and at the end of the day, we need to keep a leftist, a liberal, a progressive, whatever word you choose to use, in the White House.

Today, though, I am nauseous. I am furious. I am scared of the possibility of President Ted Cruz because of your assertions that Hillary Clinton is “unqualified” to be president.

You, sir, have just given any of your supporters the out they need not to support Secretary Clinton should she prevail in the nomination race.

You, sir, have just further inflamed the most radical of your supporters, and have done so with the biggest lie you have ever told..

About ten years ago a book was published that detailed the 40 right wing think tanks funded by a billion dollars each year. The goal of these organizations is to limit the range of topics that get broadcast to the world and frame how these topics are to be understood.

Many of the talking heads have been trained in these places and they have been very effective in directing the way Americans think about issues. Climate change is a very good example. Many here can see through the confusion spread about this issue but still are not able to do the same with so many other issues.

No we can't is true for those living in the right wing world. There are many wise people that quietly offer rational solutions to many of the problems that we face. It is time to listen to these voices. It is time to elevate a different and rational approach to our problems.

Sanders offers us a chance to take a fresh look at the world around us. Sanders offers us a chance to explore new possibilities in the way we deal with our challenges.

Sanders offers us a chance to Change the Narrative.

Take the chance - accept the challenge - join the movement that can Change the Narrative.

But never about the scope.

Frightening, positively frightening.

So sad that I graduated from high school and the PTB began to build roadblocks and enormous financial barriers that have ensured that this country has lost ground instead of thriving.

I always thought it was me making bad choices so I am still struggling looking at retirement in 4 years. A lot of my current station in life is not from my bad choices, but my own country manipulating the economy to our detriment.

Sickening.

"I am scared of the possibility of President Ted Cruz because of your assertions that Hillary Clinton is “unqualified” to be president. "

Did this fucking scare you in 2008 you little baby?

Both side should suck it up ... this is about getting qualified ... you aren't qualified until

1 - you're 42 years old (or some age around there)
2 - An American citizen
3 - Elected as your party nominee
4 - Elected by the people (or what passes for the people) in the GE

See that #3, #4? Neither one of the candidates are 'qualified' to be the President. That's what the elections are all about, and no one should be afraid to call another opponent unqualified, because at this point none of them are ... and no one should be offended by being called unqualified, because you aren't.

Hillary is unqualified ... Bernie is unqualified: Personally I believe Hillary is least qualified for ethical reasons, but the people will decide if that is true or not during #3.

41. If you can win the primaries you're not qualified
Fri Apr 8, 2016, 09:28 AM
Apr 2016

I really don't care what definition you think you're going to find in the dictionary, but if you don't meet the 'qualifications', you aren't 'qualified' ... unless you think you don't need to win the primaries and can just be declared the 'anointed monarch' by some 'higher power' ... which I suppose, you being a Hillary supporter is not beyond the realm of possibility.

But thanks for the 'alert' regarding my "improper" use of a word.

You are the one who is redefining it to mean something else that has to do with qualification through passing a voting test. That's not how it works in this case.

PS: oh, you think I alerted on this? I have no idea who did that

12. So why did the campaign writer of this so-called "open letter" conceal her/his name?
Fri Apr 8, 2016, 12:06 AM
Apr 2016

This is the first time I have ever read a unsigned "open letter". And I have read hundreds in my lifetime.

If Bernie wishes to respond to her "open letter" should it be addressed to anonymous c/o Hillary for America campaign committee or to one of Hillary's Super Duper Pac's?

This "open letter" is clearly just part of Hillary's big attack and smear propaganda campaign against Bernie.

I hope the secret writer of the letter feels better soon since he/she is nauseous, furious, infuriated and scared.

Maybe she/he needs to seek professional medical help.

She didnt need to go nasty- she was on her way to victory, now she is visable and a real turn off.

destroy the party. He never seems to care about getting other Dems elected to office or to push for anything but his own agenda..which didn't include blacks or Hispanics until late in his campaign when he and his campaign saw a huge voting block that could be used. His recent display of anger and school-yard threats against Hillary seems more like Trump. I guess he sees Trumps tactics as a winning strategy. One thing is for certain, no matter what he says or does, his followers will not change their minds about him...at least the millennials won't and they are they are the crux of his base. And because of they are more like cult followers paying attention to nothing more than getting their leader elected, shit like this will be happening all over the country in primaries and the GE:

If you're looking for people to blame for conservatives winning elections all over the place, it seems to me that you'd look at Third Way Democrats who pull the country in a conservative direction and who make speeches defending their use of coded racist language demonizing "superpredators".

Or maybe a reason might be that in Wisconsin, Republicans had 100,000 more voters on election day than the Democrats. You think that might have something to do with why a conservative judge won?
