Tad Devine's tone has been noticeably less combative this week

He knows the poll numbers for NY are baked in at this point. I also think he knows his scorched earth approach has backfired. He and Weaver have really damaged Bernie's good guy brand in the last few months. Today he backed away from Bernie's prediction of victory in NY. He's probably thinking about his future clients-whoever they are. The Bernie phenomenon will definitely get him lucrative gigs in the future. Not to mention this campaign has placed him firmly in the 1%.

buys in a big way in NYC....and we know who creates/produces and charges the campaign Up The Nose for those touchy-feely ads. He's not going to be able to rake in a million bucks a month from the campaign for much longer, so I guess he has to strike while the iron is hot.

Tad is not a newbie to this game--in fact, this is his fifth or sixth FAILED campaign. He started out on the Carter re-election fail, then moved on to the Mondale fail, then the Dukakis fail, then the Gore fail (almost pulled that one out) and then the John Kerry fail....

He's not new to this shit--but this is the most Rovian/Atwateresque he's ever gotten.

I think he's repulsed a lot of people.
