2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHillary’s “I’m Not a Crook” Moment
"As the Battle of New York looms, an underground shadow war flirts with High Noon. After nearly one year, the FBI has finally investigated the treasure trove contained in Hillary Clintons subterranean private email server. The FBI has refused to release any records. Remember, this is a criminal investigation.
Former State Department IT official Bryan Pagliano who essentially set up Clintons personal server was granted immunity in exchange for cooperating with the FBIs investigation. A whodunit applies on whether Pagliano was told this server might be the conduit of secret State Department communications as well as top secret National Security issues.
The timeline of the Clinton subterranean homesick server blues does raise eyebrows. The story first broke in March 2013, when Romanian hacker Guccifer leaked four intercepted Sidney Blumenthal e-mails related to Libya and Benghazi to selected global media outlets."
And there's this-
"The Queen of Libya
If we follow journalisms golden rule, widely praised by Alex Cockburn, of never trusting anything unless its officially denied, President Obama may have inadvertently placed Clinton in a world of grief. The President guaranteed on Fox News that there will be no political influence from the White House"

(38,437 posts)I think so.
So, comments like "you couldn't sink any lower" won't apply because the conversation from the Sanders side has been down there for months.

(10,287 posts)Hillarians say we drag vince out but when you search only hillarians have done so
But that doesnt stop them from saying it and then they have the temerity to go on about it and assign blame to others
Whatever a hillary supporter claims someone is doing is what they themselves are actually doing.

(10,175 posts)After all, when Clinton is now viewed unfavorably by 55 percent of the electorate, according to the HuffPost Pollster average, which tracks findings from 42 different polling outfits. Only 40.2 percent of people view her favorably, according to that average.
It's all you have.

(8,785 posts)To my recollection, Hillary Clinton reminds me more like Richard Nixon than any other politician in policy and more so manner.
I was there.
Marched in streets of Berkeley and San Francisco (and Marina Green for Presidio "traitors" against the Vietnam War and attended rallies for Eugene McCarthy, George Wallace, and Hubert Humphrey.
I was for the anti-war candidate.
Registered for the draft January 1971. Planned CO unnecessary because lottery number over 300.
I first voted for McGovern in 1972.
I supported Jerry Brown for POTUS in 1976 and 1980.
I was a career Federal employee under Nixon (also Carter and Reagan).
I am a lifetime Democrat.
As far as increasing one's personal wealth, Hillary Clinton by orders of magnitude over Richard Nixon.
Plus, Richard Nixon was a far better environmental POTUS (the Federal job was in environmental sciences), probably by accident as Reagan and GOP nightmare city).
Times were different for Richard Nixon, then but manner and character are timeless.
There is much overlap between Hillary Clinton and Richard Nixon.
Hillary Clinton knows better than to tape.
I may be put in position to vote for Hillary Clinton (and will bear a grudge).

(14,195 posts)Now Forbes comes out all guns blazing:
The Kremlins cyber warfare army has had ample opportunity to steal Clintons entire e-mail cache (including 31,830 private e-mails). Such hacking would likely have taken place before the Kremlins propaganda arm, RT (Russia Today), published Sidney Blumenthals e-mails to Clinton on March 20, 2013, presumably sending out alarms at that late date to Clinton to secure her private server. The Clinton cache of e-mail correspondence in the hands of the Kremlin or other hostile intelligence agencies could represent one of Americas greatest intelligence disasters, giving Vladimir Putin the opportunity to determine the outcome of the 2016 U.S. presidential election or, barring that, to cast a cloud over a Clinton presidency.

(6,007 posts)their interest is in letting us continue to operate in the way we were and them knowing about it now.
Oh, and those 22 emails we hear about. The reason they bring them up is because there are 3 main levels of security, the top being "top secret" and there are 4 levels within that. . Those 22 emails were at the highest category of the "top secret" level. Sitting on her UNENCRYPTED server at home.
And Hillary and her supporters say, "no problem". Just listen to people in the intelligence community, they can't BELIEVE it.
peacebird
(14,195 posts)That means her private homebrew server would NOT be getting any more classified info on it, so burning that bridge was a no brainer.

So one can't call this server thing anything less than fatally negligent.
Was it criminal? I guess we'll see.

(14,274 posts)We don't put much faith in Russian propaganda here at DU and it's fairly frowned upon to link to said propaganda.
As mentioned by one of DU's administrators:
RT is a propaganda outlet funded by the government of Russia.
Many people prefer that their news not be delivered by a government-funded mouthpiece. Kinda crazy, I know.
If you post stuff from RT, you take your chances.

(491 posts)I'm just thinking this is almost a separate issue from the lack of Govt email. This is playing outside the rules and ignoring them.
I hope you don't mind but I think this part is worthy of it's own thread which I plan to steal from you.

(3,226 posts)Then why is it taking so long to clear her of any wrong doing. I would think if there was no crime the investagation would have been over a long time ago. I have not heard a single reason why we have not heard that Hillary is not in hot water from the DOJ by now. The only reason that I can come up with it taking so long is the FBI wants to insure that their case has all of the evidance in place before the hammer falls.

(11,945 posts)They lay it out so succinctly:
- support for the contras in Nicaragua;
- support for NATOs bombing of the former Yugoslavia;
- support for the 2003 Shock and Awe invasion and destruction of Iraq;
- support for Operation Enduring Freedom forever in AfPak;
- then, as Secretary of State, her war of turning Libya into a militia hell;
- the 2009 military coup in Honduras;
- and finally, support for regime change in Syria via Salafi-jihadis.
Yet it aint over till the FBI man calls.
Words theirs, formatting mine.
