Related: About this forumNew York’s transit workers union endorses Bernie Sanders
This is more than a token endorsement.
New Yorks transit workers union is feeling the Bern, throwing its support behind the fiery Vermont senators quest for the presidency.
The Transport Workers Union Local 100, representing 42,000 workers in the New York region, on Wednesday endorsed Sen. Bernie Sanders ahead of the states April 19 presidential primary.
Sanders visited the union hall in downtown Brooklyn to pick up the endorsement.
The endorsement vote was nearly unanimous in favor of Sanders, according to a union source.

Sure seems to have a different outcome than when the establishment leaders choose.

With their help and the help of everyone joining together to fight for Sanders we can make a bold statement on April 19th.

(1,168 posts)16. NY transit workers union hasn't had much power since their 2005 strike
On April 10, 2006, Justice Theodore T. Jones sentenced Local 100 President Roger Toussaint to ten days in jail and a week later, the union was fined 2.5 million dollars and the automatic deduction of dues from all members was suspended.

So much for "liberal" New York.
