No, NY is not sending out misleading registration dates, they're trying to help new voters

This image is being posted in an area that I respect the rules of too much to post in:



The first reaction seems to be "OMG, they're lying about dates! Those bastards! All they can do is cheat!"

No, what they're actually doing is showing the first election (State and Local Primary is on September 13) that voter is eligible to vote in. The example above is of a voter who missed registration deadlines and can't vote until September. It is not an attempt to lie about the primary date that happens next week.

Again, let's stop the conspiracy theory before it starts.

it's where they pick all of the local elected officials.

There's also a separate one for congressional offices.

Yes, all new voters get dates for when they can view with the registration card (You can barely see a corner of the attached card on the car right of the image.).
