Bernie Marches With Verizon Workers as Its Execs and Lobbyists Give Big to Hillary
The case of Verizon demonstrates the contrasts between the candidates.

....Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders marched alongside Verizon workers in New York City. Around 40,000 Verizon employees represented by both the Communications Workers of America and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers are in a contract dispute with the company, with CWA accusing the notoriously anti-union Verizon of retaliating against employees who do labor activism.

As he joined the workers' picket, Sanders also sent along a formal statement of support, saying, “I am hopeful you will reach a fair contract. But if you run into roadblocks, as in years past, know that I will be there with you until a fair contract is negotiated.”

Sanders' approach to Verizon—standing with workers who are in tough negotiations—is in contrast to Hillary Clinton's, who has not made any statements about the current dispute. Verizon executives and lobbyists seem to appreciate that. Over the course of her campaign, Verizon executives and lobbyists have given tens of thousands of dollars to her operation. Verizon vice-presidents Lydia Pulley, Kathleen Grillo, and Donna Epps each gave $2,700 to Hillary for America. Verizon senior vice-president Thomas Edwards and vice-president Chris Debosier pitched in $1,000. Leecia Eve, a former Hillary staffer who today is a lobbyist for Verizon gave $2,700. Another Verizon lobbyist, David Lamendola, gave Hillary $1,000.

The case of Verizon demonstrates the contrasts between the candidates: Clinton receives support from management, while Sanders is on the side of the workers.

fans clearly bow to the Wealthy and Super-Wealthy. MAMMON: The greedy pursuit of wealth.

Why would Democrats side with those that are causing our middle class and working class to die by looting our wealth and resources. Rhetorical question. Greeeeeeed of course. Some can ignore the fact that more American infants die from lack of care that any other modern nation. How do you turn you backs on that. Again, greeeeeeeed. Poverty levels are rising, family incomes and savings are dropping and yet some so-called Democrats love the Wealthy. MAMMON.

Wealth is not evil but the love of it is. MAMMON.

"The wealthy don't want us to die, they just want our resources and if we die because of that, it's not personal, it's just business."

wealthy people are evil and out to get everyone. There some people who have done well-hell I wish I was wealthy. Hillary is not the cause of poverty. When she is President she will be in a better position to decrease it and help the middle class. Bernie Sanders does not have ownership as the only person that wants to help the middle class. What has he done for anybody lately? NOTHING, but talk.

of the top 1% (including the Clinton Family fortune) have skyrocketed while the middle class and working class have lost wealth.

Clinton has made no indication that she is willing to solve the number one problem, which is the growing wealth gap. She says she will help those struggling, but not at the expense of the Wealthy 1%. In other words, the struggling 99% will have to take care of ourselves.

Not all wealthy are evil. But most of them want to increase their wealth and don't care if it hurts those among us that are struggling. The bank crash effectively moved 5 trillion dollars from the 99% to the 1% and since the wealthy control our government there has been essentially nothing done to rectify that looting, and nothing to prevent it in the future.

The Banksters are out to make as much wealth as they can. The easiest way to to take it from the middle and working classes. They make the laws and they can steal our wealth and resources. Clinton is a big part of that corrupt culture. Why do you think the banksters back her? Because she will help the poor?

People are waking up to the corrupt culture of Wall Street. Whose side are you on?

Bernie has spent his life working on these things. Don't blame him if the Democratic power structure has chosen to go AWOL ,on so many issues...or, worse yet, sided with the abusers.

And no not all corporations or wealthy people are evil. But many are, and we can't keep letting them set the agenda and getting away it it.

It's been a long time since we've had someone like that in the Presidency.

Some would say we're fools to expect that it's possible to have someone like that in the White House. They are helping to usher in a very dark and sad future for our country.

That anything Sanders does is seen as pandering. "Sanders ties his shoes?!? He is just pandering!"

Sanders has rarely flipped on his beliefs and policies. Whereas Hillary has changed her policies more often than most politicians. Yet, Sanders is just pandering for votes.

You could make the same dumb claim about tax returns. Well, Clinton released hers, why hasn't Sanders? And despite some making hay out of that, it's a stupid topic on which to be fixated.

Same here. Every single thing Clinton does, you'll now be posting about why isn't Sanders doing that, too? You see, it works both ways and it is, as I said, pathetic.

And I suppose no one within Verizon has contributed to the Sanders campaign, right? You've verified this, have you?

Sen. Sanders is walking the walk ... walking the picket line.

This is practicing what you preach.

So, where has Hillary been?
Oh, at fundraisers given by millionaires, billionaires and the power elite -- pandering for dollars.
