2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHillary used EMILY's list as a Vendetta against Lucy Flores for endorsing Senator Sanders...
During her 2014 campaign one D.C. pro-choice group, EMILYs List, endorsed her and added that she was an "inspiring community leader." They even kicked off a program to elect more Latinas to Congress in 2016.
But then Lucy Flores endorsed our political revolution before the Nevada caucus, and everything changed. EMILYs List decided to endorse a different person in Lucys House race this time around. So I want to support Lucy like shes supported us, because we stand together. And I am asking you to join me:
Split a $27 contribution between our campaign and Lucy Flores today and send a powerful message that we are going to win this primary AND elect a Congress willing to stand up to the political establishment and billionaire class of this country.
Throughout this campaign, Ive told you that no candidate for president not Bernie Sanders, not the greatest president you could possibly imagine can take on the billionaire class alone.
Lucy Flores is exactly the kind of person I'm going to need in Congress when I am president. And we can help get her there. Thats why your contribution is so important.
See in bold... I don't think that is a coincidence. That is the type of quid pro quo we will get if Hillary gets the nomination. No Thanks! No Ma'am, No cauliflower, no green beans, no gravy! #ByeHillicia!

(30,481 posts)Now, out of the eight democrats running for this seat, why do you think she wasn't worthy of the endorsement?

But, you probably didn't know that
http://www.ourcampaigns.com/RaceDetail.html?RaceID=790611
She lost Clark County of all places. They aren't going to endorse someone who lost that badly in another race and she certainly wasn't owed an endorsement just for being Hispanic.

(2,353 posts)There is no amount of spin that can rationalize a women's group who has made it a mission to get Latina's elected to Congress in 2016 to not endorse a Latina running for Congress. Especially one they endorsed before and one who succeeded in becoming the first Latina Assemblywoman in Nevada...

(12,689 posts)Let's get that clear, there seems to be some attempt at misleading that they endorsed her for Congress and then took it back because she didn't endorse Clinton. They endorsed her for Lt. Governor in 2014.
Endorsements should not be based on race or ethnicity. Flores performed badly in her previous race and that clearly gave Emily's List some reservations.

(3,473 posts)that she was behind the Emily's List endorsement. But that's ok for those of you that don't require any proof.

(12,689 posts)The result of the 2014 Lt. Governor race probably factored into her not getting the endorsement. When you lose by double digits for one race it's not likely you'll get an endorsement for another race.
And what the hell does Hillary Clinton have to do with this? It's sheer insanity to even tie this to the presidential race. Stop it, because you are making yourself look really bad.

(2,353 posts)It doesn't make sense factoring in their desire in 2016 to see Latinas elected to Congress. They instead endorsed a White woman.

It's my opinion they chose to do this because Lucy supports Bernie. Lucy is very popular in the Latino community and is a pro-choice champion.
