1. That is so bizarre they picked 2700, isn't it? Did they just take Bernie's avg donation & add zeros?

2. No, that's the max amount an individual can legally donate.

and divided it by 100. Literally.

13. Yep, the $2700 is strikingly meaningful.

Hillary's events are for the rich. Albeit she's sure selling herself cheaper now that she's broke and the big corps underfunded her campaign(probably because of under performance) and her supporters don't care enough to donate. How many of the middle class have $2700 to blow for lunch and not even a pic with Hillary? Most of the middle class today don't have anything in their savings accounts. The poor certainly can't get in to see Hillary no matter what.

I wouldn't be surprised if her Super Pacs pulled out and aligned behind Cruz. They want the Presidential candidate that will give them amnesty for their fraud and only slap them with fines. I bet they see Hillary is too much of a gamble now and a waste of money. How else can you explain her campaign being broke with the backers she has(or perhaps had.)

6. the only problem with making it the max is that the well is dry after this.

I went to a fund raiser for a congress candidate and that ws what they ran into dried the well too fast.

the other problem is if this person bought a sign or a t-shirt - they will have to give some money back

I believed we discussed this before when people were complaining how Sanders gave money back - this stuff happens.

8. Oh no...you can always give to super-PACs or down ballot candidates, or cause issues

And once the general election starts, you can donate another $2700 to the candidate.

That will get you into a Potluck for Bernie/Dine with the 99 event.
But I bet if someone shows up hungry & empty handed, they won't leave hungry.

11. I've been to many such fundraisers.

Not as a donor, because I can't afford to donate $2700 to anyone but the IRS. I've volunteered at such functions, though, on numerous occasions. I've been a car-parking valet, a bartender, a waiter, and an oboist in a woodwind quintet that played background music during the event.

Oddly enough, I always ran into people I knew who did donate that much. They weren't all that extraordinary, really. They were people from my community who I knew.

While I can't donate $2700, there are many Democrats who can and do donate that much. They're in the same party I am. They're just making more money than I do. We have similar goals, though.

or donate it to republicans? WTF is the problem with this? Are you jealous that you don't have 2,700 to donate?

And that ten million is just for one month. There've been consistent problems for last several months in a row.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

The Daily Caller is a horrible right wing website, people need to stop linking to these sites just to tar and feather our candidates here. Enough of this smearing from both sides.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Wed Apr 13, 2016, 04:27 PM, and the Jury voted 0-7 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I ate too much cheese last night.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: As a Bernie supporter, I think we need to be on the level with everything. I don't really see a TOS offence. I don't doubt that this will be cleared up quickly however.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I am sure that the Daily Caller is a horrible right wing website, but the letter to Sanders' treasurer seems to be quite real. http://docquery.fec.gov/pdf/619/201602250300038619/201602250300038619.pdf I agree with the call to end the smearing but censorship ain't the way to do it.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Alerter should respond with remarks not only about the questionable source, but details on how wrong the OP and source are.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
