2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumAbout the Clinton supporters: Don't assume they know everything and are okay with it.
They don't and many won't be.
Speak to some of the former Clinton supporters and you'll understand that one shouldn't just assume they will stick by her no matter what comes out in the general election.
Have we ever had a primary where the leader contender had tons of baggage that was never made known in the general election?

It's perfectly reasonable to be worried that Hillary isn't going to be able to steamroll her way through the GE like she's trying to do in the primary. Especially since she isn't being particularly successful with that strategy in the primary where Bernie's playing nice.

Very irresponsible.

That unless I go along with all the bashing of Hillary, I am the enemy.
Sad.
I will attack Hillary as much as Bernie will if Bernie loses. You will NOT be able to say the same, so dont lecture me about subterfuge

"American corporations today are like the great European monarchies of yore: They have the power to control the rules under which they function and to direct the allocation of public resources. This is not a prediction of whats to come; this is a simple statement of the present state of affairs. Corporations have effectively captured the United States: its judiciary, its political system, and its national wealth, without assuming any of the responsibilities of dominion. Evidence is everywhere."

(29,798 posts)And Hillary is a corporatist. I didn't make that up or plant the idea in any way. That's why she made $21,468,000 in speaking fees over 24 months recently - she is the darling of those dedicated to corporate empire.

She's done nothing for the past 16 years but stack up an incredible amount of wrong-headed policy and actions that are bursting-ripe for exploitation by the GOP.
Bernie is on the side of the people and they know it. Hillary is on Hillary's side and the people know it.

(11,417 posts)Hillary is the most vetted candidate for President. Her bio and record are an open book.
People can choose to know the truth or believe what scandal mongers write.
It should be obvious by all the lies that the right has dreamed up to destroy Hillary that they do not want her in power.
It seems that Bernie supporters want to destroy her too. I think that is a tragic mistake. The repubs dish out the lies and Bernie supporters soak them up like a sponge.
We have right wing trolls here on this board posting OP's daily that Bernie supports rec over and over.
The good news is that Hillary is stronger than all her detractors put together.
She will be nominated and will be elected President in spite of them

(29,798 posts)That isn't going to work in the GE. You'd be well advised to recall that the GOP is going to rip her to shreds on the speaking fees, her time as SecState and the uncomfortable donations to the Clinton Foundation that coincide so well with State Department business.
You think WhiteWater was bad? Wait until they get started on her financial behavior since.

(4,960 posts)policies she supports or the poor judgement she has shown.
They just know she is a Democrat. Was first lady. Is a woman. Was Secy of State and Obama chose her. The email and Benghazi crap is what they hear and since that's the right wing garbage thrown at her - they don't focus on the real problems with her. And every one of them like and would support Bernie - if they thought he could win. But the media tells them he can't - so they go with the "winner" they have been told is the Democrat to support.
And these are smart people. They are busy people. They don't have a lot of time and aren't looking for info. They get it in soundbites and they think if they watch CNN or MSNBC they are getting a more "liberal" viewpoint.
Unfortunately, this is what we are up against and why it is so hard for people like Bernie to make strides. That he is doing as well as he is is remarkable and a testament to his strengths and the desire of people for real change.
