They didn't ask for any ID, just name address and date of birth.
They use paper ballots.
There was a steady stream of people, but no wait.

(54 posts)I had the same experience and I have to say, it was a pleasant. I was very proud to have voted for Obama and physcally loading the ballot myself in the machine and seeing the number go up by one made me feel much better.

(317,108 posts)so many other places. Like a different time and place. I voted in the primary in Kaua'i in August and it was the first time I ever had to show my ID.

(456 posts)I voted today, but after pushing the "cast ballot" button on the machine and walking away you kind of leave thinking did my vote go through. Its kind of an empty feeling especially in Texas where republicans have ridged everything.
No receipt, nothing.
At the very least those electronic machines should be printing a paper receipt to be stored somewhere. Not having a receipt is outrageous.

where my vote goes from there.. but at least there's a backup
with the paper if foul play is suspected.

There's so much sun here... good for mood. The lifestyle
here is more easygoing than most places I've lived.
People are poor but mostly friendly and helpful.
