I voted today -- my first presidential vote was for George McGovern in 1972 (RIP)

One hour wait in line at the Jefferson County (WV) Courthouse (where John Brown was tried...) The bailiff told me that there has been a constant line since early voting started on Wednesday.

And I voted this morning in Texas, straight Democratic, as I have always done. There was a steady stream of voters and I was told this precinct has had 750 voters/day. (Early voting began Monday)

In the first day of early voting in Kanawha Country (also West Virginia), the turnout in the first two days was 60% higher than 2008! We still have no chance of an Obama win in West Virginia, but I'm hoping that the statewide offices and the state legislature will stay Democratic.

1968 although I was too young to vote. I like to think that if I had been old enough to vote in 1968 I would have had better sense and seen through his bullshit.

I was 23 at the time. The voting age was 21 back then.

I mail in my ballot today. Voting for Obama was the easy part. We've got all the propositions in CA to wade through. The ballot is 2 very long pages.
