Early Voting in Gwinnett County, Georgia

As we drove up to the Lucky Shoals Park Recreation Center there were Obama Biden signs at the entrance. Only one Robme sign. When we got to the parking lots they were full. Cars were parked on the grass. The lines were very, very long. We are going back early Monday morning. A beautiful sight. In 08 it was not this crowded.

Being from California, it was culture shock x 100,000 during election season. Cross-over voting was a nightmare too... my ex SO (yes, a republican) deliberately (along with most others like him) worked diligently to unseat McKinney and any other races they could affect to our detriment. I've been back home now for some 8 years, do not miss the politics of that state nor the humidity. I do miss some things, but politics ain't one of them.

I am THRILLED that you had this experience today, and glad to know there are folks like you fighting the good fight in GA. Thanks for that.

And my Obama sign is about the only one I've seen anywhere in this neck of the woods. Robme signs are everywhere.

Too bad our vote never really counts except in the popular total. Sadly Paul Broun is my congressman (planning to vote for Charles Darwin) but I live near Athens which is one of the "blue islands" in a sea of red.

Georgia counties that might go blue. Lived there too long and I doubt even Gwinnett can go blue, but hope springs eternal.
