2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumRomney is aloof. Is he a cold person? An introvert? A rich kid who doesn't know how to relate to
regular people?
Edit: to not diagnose someone with not enough information.

(115,735 posts)based on a magazine article probably isn't especially useful. It is entirely possible that Romney is not at all cold when interacting with family and close friends (remember, the same accusation was made of Al Gore, who is said to be warm and friendly in person). His apparent coldness and detachment may be simply the fact that he is an introvert who has spent his entire life isolated in a bubble of great wealth and privilege, and as a result he has difficulty connecting with people, especially those who are not members of his social class.
We don't know. But whatever the cause of his apparent inability to relate to people, he wouldn't be a good President. To use an unscientific term, he seems to be kind of a dick.

(118,696 posts)warmer with people he knows. The article does go into how introverts are not these avoidant personalities. And introverts grow out of their shyness. I am interested because I was aloof when i was a young adult/teen but that was because I have an auditory disability and converse much better with people who are talkative (I used to just describe myself simply as quiet). It seems Mitt needs something to get his engine going which often seems to be his wife - she warms/revs him up. But I'll take your advice and redo the op. Thanks for your input.

(10,602 posts)Romney is running just so he can have the title. He is so self absorbed. He does not care about the country or governing. He is just in it for the pomp and circumstance and for his life resume. He will sign anything Grover Norquist wants. He is the epitome of an empty human. His wife is no different.
