As a moderate , liberal Muslim American I don't see why it matters. As far as I know right-wingers claim they want to respect the constitution. However the constitution doesn't place any restriction on who holds public office based on Religion.

Besides Mr Obama loves bacon I saw him on TV have a burger with bacon accompanied by Biden Muslims are not allowed to eat pork.

I was disgusted with the appointment of Duyba as president - he had been my governor for six years and I knew what an utter disaster he would be........I looked on the internet for, as you put it, "like minded people", and I found them here.......DU is my oasis from red Texas political hell

I don't think there's anything wrong with being an Atheist, mind you: I'm an Atheist.

But why do you say that?

Furthermore, what exactly is that video supposed to prove? Assad is massacring his own people. It's a fucking mess over there. That is one thing on which there seems to be wide agreement on in the US Political Spectrum.

But supporting a bunch of people who are affiliated with the same group that caused 9/11 is just insane. We are sending those terrorists hundreds of millions of our taxpayer money for what? They are praising OSAMA BIN LADEN and aim to establish a Sharia based state in Syria. Both Obama and Romney suck when it comes to foreign policy.

Obama has done everything he promised to do in regards to the two wars Bush started, and by all accounts Al Qaeda is a far lesser security threat than they used to be. Obama's foreign policy has been smart and effective.

Anyone can post a youtube video purporting to "prove" all manner of spurious shit.

Lastly, I didn't ask you whether you thought there was anything wrong with being an Atheist, I asked why you, as you put it, "thought Obama was an atheist". What's the basis for that statement, and what does it have to do with Syria or the video you posted?

It is one more circumstantial evidence against Obama.
Frankly, I think POTUS is probably an atheist who talks about God because you can't (sadly) get elected in the US unless you do profess faith in him upstairs. Its a sad state of affairs indeed.
Liberalism is founded on the enlightenment, on rational thought, the use of evidence, breaking free from the old mythological chains.
However, the practicalities of getting elected make it impossible to state what you believe (or rather don't.)
Cheers

Interestingly, the percentage of Americans who believe Obama is Jewish up from 0% in 2010, while the 10% of those who believe Obama to be of the Muslim faith is down from 17% two years ago.

I have my own theories; none of them pleasant.

I very much doubt that even one of the people polled actually thinks he is Jewish.
