A new Suffolk University poll has found that 19% of Republicans say they will support Hillary Clinton if Donald Trump wins the Republican nomination.

A new Suffolk University poll has found that 19% of Republicans say they will support Hillary Clinton if Donald Trump wins the Republican nomination.

The poll contained some numbers that should terrify Republicans. 40% of Republicans polled said that they would not support the party’s nominee if Donald Trump wins. 25% of the anti-Trump Republican vote would consider voting for a third party candidate. 19% of the never Trump Republicans would vote for Hillary Clinton, and 18% would stay home and not vote at all. By gender, 10% of men, and 9% of Republican women would vote for Clinton over Trump. 18% of very likely Republican general election voters would support Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump.

And Obama had stated that he would be a moderate Republican in the 1980's.

Makes sense to me.

Not sure why this party insists on not seeing the obvious alternative is badly needed.

Oh wait, yes I do.

Thanks for confirming what we already knew -- that Hillary and her supporters are much more comfortable being aligned with Republicans than left leaning Democrats like myself.

8. If I read this correctly:

19% of the 40% would go for Clinton. Thus,
only 8% of the registered Repugs would vote for
her.
Since both of the parties have about 28-30% of
all voters registered, and 12-15% of Dems would not
vote for her, this does not even out to her advantage.

However, since 40% or more are by now independents,
and we have no idea how they would vote, it remains
an open question.

And should keep the GOP power brokers pushing for a contested convention. The Donald could be denied the nomination and, if so, he goes indie thus destroying the GOP's chances for the WH and handing the Senate to the Dems.

Polls like this are good

I think that a much larger number of Republicans (and Democrats) wont vote for Hillary for similar reasons.
