Daily Kos Elections Morning Digest: We move MA-Sen from 'Tossup' to 'Lean D'

by David Nir.

Reposted from Daily Kos Elections by David Nir

• MA-Sen (Tossup to Lean D): I'm betting that Scott Brown is seriously regretting his agreement with Elizabeth Warren to bar most third-party spending on the race, because you know he's thinking that a $5 million blitz by Karl Rove sure would be tasty right about now. That's because the polling's simply been awful for the Republican senator since Labor Day, ever since the contest took a negative turn. If Brown could have stayed positive and had someone else do his dirty work, he might still be in this thing. But he's sullied his image, and Massachusetts' traditional blue instincts have reasserted themselves enough to power Warren to a distinct advantage.http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/10/29/1151723/-Daily-Kos-Elections-Morning-Digest-We-move-MA-Sen-from-Tossup-to-Lean-D

1. Larry Sabato moved the MA SEN race to Leans Dem a couple weeks ago.

2. Stu Rothenberg has done the same thing.

3. And Nate Silver has Warren with a 95% chance of winning

and I have to say that going around to the historic sites and thinking about our birth as a country really changed my thinking.

Yeah, people complain and kvetch that the founding fathers were men and slave owners, and women didn't vote until the 20th century - but the point was that change was possible. I've read the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution (have you, Mitt?) and am amazed at the intellect and philosophical chutzpah that went into those documents.

We're still a work in progress. (Unless the repukes steal another election!)

"...people complain and kvetch that the founding fathers were men and slave owners, and women didn't vote until the 20th century"

The founding fathers directly affected the trajectory of people's lives with those decisions - the effects of which are still felt today.

You ARE aware that there are more than just white guys on DU, right?

It's just that, as I said, we are a work in progress. Not as fast as many of us wish, but it was a start. Things change. One thing that annoys me about progressives is that we fight more among ourselves than we do with those who are truly oppressive.

Maybe I should just withdraw from DU and tend my herb garden.

Sensitive much? Go kvetch someplace else.

Because I don't have a CHOICE. It isn't like I can change my sex or color - actually I choose not to change my gender. Race is something else. I don't get the choice to ignore racism or misogyny. It comes looking for me. AND my kids. And my parents.

And I have just as much a right to be here and call out white privilege, as you do to share your thoughts. Where do you get off telling me to go away because I point out an inconvenient truth?

I've just given you a gift. You can choose to learn from it, or you can continue along the same path and choose to continue making the same tone-deaf mistakes around people of color.

I have a storm to prepare for. But I'll be sure to inform my kids that any future concerns they express about the hypocrisy of our founding fathers will be seen as little more than bellyaching and 'kvetching' by their fellow citizens.

and undermined his fake good guy image. I imagine he's being abandoned by women. Now he's trying to put the toothpaste back in the tube by running all these "I'm pro woman" tv ads.
