Why isn't Al Gore on the campaign trail for Obama?

I would think the Obama campaign would use Gore to campaign too for Obama like they're using Clinton. I would think he'd be perfect to use in Florida. I mean I understand why Romney can't use Cheney, but Obama could definitely use Gore especially now that he can't campaign right now because of Sandy. I don't remember Gore speaking at the convention either.

I'm wondering if he is busy with other projects or if he had some sort of falling out with the Obama White House.

I just think if they're going to remind people with that TV ad talking about the 537 votes in 2000 that kept Gore from the presidency, having Gore himself in some campaign stops in Florida would also be a reminder of "what could have been" as the ad says. As we all know there were hundreds of people in Florida who sat at home on election day in 2000 and now wish they hadn't. Al Gore is a living symbol of why people should get off their butts and go vote.

should not be out there trying to sell a winner. John Kerry's position is played just about right; he's more of a behind-the-scenes type guy, helping by pretending to be the liar in debate prep...let's face it Gore isn't much of a talker either-he evokes bad memories and will always be credited with the "I invented the internet" laugher. So as to Gore being some kind of Obama surrogate: Pass...

he won the popular vote and I'll go to my deathbed believing that the majority voters in Florida left the polls in 2000 thinking they had voted for Al Gore. No way Pat Buchanan should have gotten all those votes in Palm Beach county, even he said that.

If you're implying that Gore isn't thrilled with O's environmental record, I'd say you are right, however, O has offset that by investing heavily in alternative energy sources which I think is important and resonates. You can rest assured Gore is a proactive Democrat working behind the scenes in this election. I've read he's doing fundraising for the DCCC and I support that.
