The Present Day GOP Southern Strategy Is An Extension of Previous Southern Strategies.
by johndamos | October 28, 2012 - 6:55am

Recently, a Democrat friend from Mississippi, possibly the only Democrat left in Mississippi, in an online discussion of politics, noted that among friends and neighbors there, Obama is being promoted with fear, loathing and racism by the dominant local Mississippi Republicans.

And this friend noted also that this fear and loathing is being promoted with a religious fervor actually attached to existing fundamentalist religions there, and that Obama, because of his race, is being promoted locally as a contemporary antichrist, a thing to be feared and hated by racist white Southerners.

Obama as the (N-word) anti-Christ, especially in the minds of hardcore, indoctrinated deep South Southerners made sense to me when I read this.

~snip~

Keeping people fearful, ignorant and poor is all about control and profit. It's always about the money. It's still about the money, at the expense of human lives and human happiness. Sacrificing human worth and happiness for profits, the GOP way of doing things.

a black person. The slaves were on plantations - making their rich owners even richer. When slaves were to be set free - the only people losing free labor were the rich rice field owners.

But yet they could talk poor, ignorant Southerners to fight and die for them. The same way Bush talked them into fighting in Iran.

to sponser their first primary and set up a booth.

Americans should demand a public membership list and full disclosure of the funders of those cancers. I would not mind at all if Anon. exposed those roaches names to the light.

I wrote it on September 1st this year.

A long story about The Southern Strategy

It goes back to the very beginning of the nation & beyond.
The political parties always shift when the Issue of the Black People becomes involved.
And Obama being 1st Black President makes it once again a top notch issue that will shake up the political parties one more time.

This whole country was built upon greedy wealthy White folks making scapegoated boogeymen for their poorer White counterparts to fight against so that the poorer ones don't fight the wealthy ones.

Racism is just a function of Classism.
A very VERY effective one at that.
It's become such a tradition that these people define themselves by it.

When the Southerners recognize that Blacks & other 'Foreign' folks are not their enemies, this country will transform in a major way.
It's gonna happen one day. But that day's a loooooong way from here.
