Obama/Biden cancel campaign activity-Romney/Ryan continue to campaign

Exactly one week to Election Day, President Obama has benched Candidate Obama, hunkering down at the White House for a second straight day to monitor superstorm Sandy and the federal government response to the storm.

The Obama campaign cancelled two campaign rallies that had been planned today in Colorado Springs, Colo., and Green Bay, Wisc. The president will remain in Washington today with no planned political events, an unprecedented step off the campaign trail days before voters head to the polls in a race that many polls say is tied.

As Sandy came ashore and moved inland Monday night, the president placed calls to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy and Newark Mayor Corey Booker to offer his support and assistance, an administration official told ABC News.

Obama “called me last night around midnight … to ask what else could be done and offered any other assets that we need,” Christie, a Republican and avid Romney surrogate, said on “Good Morning America.” “I have to say the administration, the president himself and Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Craig Fugate have been outstanding with us so far. We have a great partnership with them, and I want to thank the president personally for his personal attention to this.”

Biden cancels campaign stop in Scranton

HARRISBURG - The approach of Hurricane Sandy prompted Vice President Biden to cancel a campaign visit that he had scheduled for Scranton, where he grew up.
Biden's visit had been scheduled for Thursday, but the campaign said Monday that it was canceled to ensure that all local law enforcement and emergency management resources can focus on public safety during the storm.

Biden has made the city a regular stop in campaign seasons and visited there in the final days of the 2008 campaign. Biden was last in Pennsylvania in September

MEANWHILE ROMNEY & RYAN WILL CAMPAIGN:

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has canceled his campaign events for Tuesday and will instead attend a "storm relief" event, the former Massachusetts Governor's campaign said.

The campaign said Romney will attend the event in Kettering, Ohio, where he will be joined by race car driver Richard Petty and country music artist Randy Owen and help collect donations for storm relief efforts.

Romney had previously been scheduled to hold a campaign rally at the same location along with Petty, Owen, and Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

Meanwhile, the campaign said Romney's running mate Paul Ryan will visit campaign offices in La Crosse and Hudson, Wisconsin, where he will thank volunteers who are delivering or collecting items for storm relief efforts

The MSM and Fox News would absolutely go batshit crazy about how winning the election is more important than doing his job

This all just pisses me off. Obama/Biden have a job to do while these two fuckwads get to continue their campaigning of lies and throwing free concerts that feign concern for the surplus population.

I have family and friends in Northeast Ohio (hometown is Cleveland) and judging by their facebook pages a lot of things are shut down in Cleveland. They got hit too. Not nearly as bad as NYC but several of them are without power.
