Haul from Romney's "Storm Relief"

Just heard about the official tally of supplies that Romney's Storm Relief Concert brought in and it is impressive

-6 cans of tuna

-3 bottles of water

-5 Mountain Dew cans left over from homecoming

-A McDonald Monopoly Game instant win coupon for a small fry

-5 cans of soup, 2 of which haven't yet expired!

-2 packets of ramen noodles, with flavor pouches included!

-An old baseball cap that someone found in the parking lot

-6 Dave and Buster's game tickets

-$7 from Romney himself

Very generous. Thank you Mitt Romney! You are the true hero!

You get to be in the Secret Service, and instead of protecting Obama, you get stuck with Romney and his little face.

Can you imagine having to take a bullet for Mitt?

5. Back in 2008, the secret service was referring to obama as "44"

This was before the election even happened. I wonder if they refer to Romney as 45.......

4. Perhaps it is just that they are expected to put their lives on the line for Willard

That would piss off a lot of people.............
They probably would rather be protecting someone important like the President

I don't think they have a choice. Imagine being told you have to risk your life for an a-hole.

outdated macaroni & cheese. Rows & rows of it. When I first started working I assumed the outdated goods was taboo. I found out that was not so. They were willing to take anything. And in fact the people picking up the bags of food probably did not care that mac & cheese was a few months past fresh.

8. I work at a foodbank. Out dated food in cans is still good. It may lose some

nutritional value but unless the can is bulging, esp tomatoes, it is ok. Some people throw away food after the expiration date. The food companies love it. Give them to your local foodbank.

7. A church I used to attend had an ongoing collection for a local food pantry.

I don't know how often the goods were delivered, maybe every two weeks or once a month. One day I saw a half-empty bag of rolls that had been left on the pile. It stayed there a few days and was starting to show some mold until finally someone threw it away. Seriously, who would donate something like that to a food drive?????

I've been volunteering at my local food bank a long time. We get all kinds of crazy things from donors, but the one I will never forget was a book titled The Joy of Fasting.
