It appears it was delayed from the originally scheduled time, but it should be coming up soon in case you are interested. The only thing I know is that he is going to make an announcement and will take questions.
Rumors abound. I am not repeating any pro or con perspectives. I am comfortable to wait and see what is said. I do think the questions might be interesting.

(9,314 posts)I am surprised it is not on yet. My brother (who watches FOX) called me and said it was going to start in 40 minutes. That was more than 40 minutes ago....
I have heard nothing from CNN so I just wait.

(24,411 posts)We are hungry for information--because we all just want this to end. It is a nightmare to have our Democratic frontrunner at the epicenter of a year-long investigation while we're in the throes of a Presidential election.
I highly doubt there will be any big announcements. If I had to take a guess, I would imagine that this might have to do with the laughable, bizarre drip of articles in the MSM that quote anonymous sources who are making inappropriate, unsubstantiated remarks about the investigation.
Shooting off your mouth about an FBI investigation is a big no no. Last time Josh Earnest did so, Loretta Lynch went public and admonished the White House in the press, in multiple outlets. She even did Colbert and continued her admonishment during that appearance.
Perhaps, he's going to tell everyone to zip it.

(9,314 posts)Just some simple comments about the status of where the investigation is and taking questions from the press. I think perhaps like you it might be prompted to shut down rumors afloat....

(9,314 posts)And then my brother from Florida called and said he was waiting for it (he watches FOX) and he was sure he had not missed it. Had the station on early waiting for something. Then there was an announcement that the press conference would start in 40 minutes. The well has been dry since then. I got nothing more.

(34,825 posts)But at least we received confirmation that Comey isn't Director of the Federal Bureau of Security Reviews, nor has the FBSR exonerated her of any wrongdoing. I wonder if Mrs Clinton and her surrogates will continue to refer to it as such?

Meet Hillary Clinton's "Greatest Influence" on Military Issues, a Fox News Pundit Who Makes Money From War
A profile of Hillary Clinton in the latest issue of the New York Times Magazine makes the case, convincingly, that the Democratic frontrunner is the most hawkish candidate in the race, from her upbringing as the daughter of a Navy training officer to her disagreements, as secretary of state, with President Obama over use of force. The piece outlines her relationships with several powerful current and former members of the military, and notes that the single greatest influence on her thinking about the military is a retired George W. Bush-era four-star general named Jack Keane.
How Hillary Clinton Became a Hawk

Fox News viewers may recognize Keane as one of the networks frequently consulted military analysts, a role he has used to call withdrawal from Iraq a disaster, to argue against closing Guantanamo Bay, and to call a 2014 Pentagon report on climate change evidence of a misguided priority in the Obama administration.
While campaigning for president, Clinton has called out Bernie Sanders for his criticisms of President Obama, despite her own frequent disagreements with the president on foreign policy issues. She has positioned herself as the candidate who would carry on the presidents legacy if elected. As the Times Magazine profile notes, she has said in national security speeches that her plans for dealing with threats in the Middle East represent an intensification and acceleration of the presidents, not a clean break from them.
But Keane, who has informally advised Clinton on military affairs for 15 years, dispenses tough-guy criticisms of the president regularly....

"In response to a question, Comey said he wasn't familiar with the term "security inquiry" that Clinton and her aides have used to describe the ongoing probe. Comey said he considers the work agents are doing to be an "investigation."
