2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHow embarrassing for HRC- to be so evenly tied, this late in the game, so close in Kentucky
the election there could go either way, until the results are certified. Wow.

(5,648 posts)Starting in Kentucky and Oregon to catch Hillary in pledged delegates, Sanders had to win each and every remaining contest 67% to 33%. Since he did not win by that margin in either state, he falls further behind.
Going forward Sanders has to win every remaining contest after tonight by at least 70% to 30% and if he doesn't win by that margin in the next contest, the hill get steeper.
Raise your hand if you are delusional enough believe that Sanders can still win the majority of the pledged delegates?

(149,699 posts)I know full well that Bernie cannot and will not win the nomination.
This makes me sad, of course, but each state he wins makes me feel happy.

And BTW, we, like you, are free to spend our own money as we damned well please. I am happy to continue to toss a few $$ to Bernie's campaign whenever I can, and I will continue to do so, despite the "concern" from Hillary's supporters.

I do agree on the delegate math but Kentucky should scare team Hillary because this was a closed primary that she won easily in 2008.

(10,721 posts)Sanders winning where Clinton won in 2008 is sort of par for the course, and it makes sense when you think about it. This is an oversimplification, but Clinton is doing best where Obama won in '08 against her, so it stands to reason that her opponent is doing best where she did well in '08.
It's all about demographics.

Inquiring minds want to know.
You won't hang around here and goad and bait--DU has never permitted that in General Election season, and from all indications, we're going back to an old-school rules-based paradigm so that will not be tolerated.

As for charges of antisemitism, what are you trying to suggest? Why aim that at ME?
You'd best back away from any suggestion that I endorse bigotry if you know what's good for you. I will object to that kind of characterization in the strongest possible way. Those kinds of false smears are also grounds for PPR.
smdh. Never seen anything like that.

(25,699 posts)And no, I'm not accusing you of anything - My apologies if it seemed I was. No, I was pointing out that evidently, the rules change. Sometimes they change pretty drastically.
MADem
(135,425 posts)I wouldn't be surprised that a lot of those HIDE voters who came after me no longer have jury privileges.
Sometimes, rule changes are good things. It should never be OK to call DUers ugly names, but that happens here all the time. It's not right, no matter what side does it.

(135,425 posts)That's why DU has a no doxxing rule. It's right there in the TOS:

So's
Do not post or link to any private/personal information about any person, even if it is publicly available elsewhere on the Internet.
Since I didn't alert on it, I don't know or care what a jury had to say. Anyone who voted "LEAVE" though, is someone who hasn't read the TOS and probably shouldn't be serving on a jury.
