2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhat is the proper response when you see your vote has been stolen?
It seems the Nevada Democratic elite were completely prepared to piss people off, they knew there would be a response when they behaved like dictators.
This is why they had the brownshirts all prepared to kick everyone out.
So what were people supposed to do when they witnessed such overt cheating?
What is appropriate according to the media and Hillary people?
Seems any normal person might react to the theft of their vote in a Democracy, one that wastes all our money on wars trying to create our form of government elsewhere.
Instead of apologizing for their behavior, or giving us some avenue for protesting this injustice....they are just lying and pretending it didn't happen.
Instead of admitting what they have done, they use the classic "Big LIE" used by Republicans and corporate media to say the exact opposite of reality.
If the Democratic elite and their corporate media did nothing wrong, why can't they at least admit what happened with the registrations and why Bernie delegates were mad in the first place?

(11,366 posts)I hope someone tapes Thom Hartmann's show today so I can link to it here.
He has people on explaining WHY people were angry and it wasn't about Hillary, per se (although her minions lost their candidate a lot of votes by pulling the stunts they did).

(1,438 posts)fair and square. That Sanders wasn't able to manipulate a delegate lead in his favor means democracy won.

(57,936 posts)Don't fall for the Dean scream moment that the media is trying to create.
The Bernie supporters wanted a chance to participate meaningfully in the convention.
Adopting Roberts' Rules of Order would have been a good idea. Hillary won in Nevada but by a bare minimum of votes, and as I understand it from Bernie supporters who were there, with some unfair, heavy-handed maneuvering. Thus, there were feelings on the parts of Bernie supporters that they could not trust the Hillary supporters.
There is blame to go around in the management of the Nevada Democratic Party. And what in the world was Barbara Boxer, a California senator doing, berating Bernie supporters in Nevada, not even her state? Where was Harry Reid? Why wasn't he speaking instead of Barbara Boxer?
The Nevada convention appears to have been organized to create a Dean scream moment.
The media is behind it. They don't want net neutrality. They don't want the overturning of Citizens United. And why? Because the end of net neutrality and the continuation of Citizens United means big profits for them. That includes MSNBC.
Democrats should not be sucked in by the manipulations of the press and the poor management of the Nevada Democratic Party.
Bernie is so peaceful that even a bird fearlessly lands on his podium.
Bernie is the best candidate in 2016 by far.
Don't let a media-created Dean scream moment divide our Democratic Party. And let's be thankful that Barbara Boxer will be retiring soon. As a Californian, I have always proudly supported her, but she let her emotions rule during her speech and reaction to the Nevada convention attendees, and that is a sign that her time in the Senate should end. She is not emotionally up to handling difficult situations any more. Thanks, Barbara Boxer, for your service. But it is really time to leave while you are ahead.
I feel sad to have to say that about Barbara Boxer, but she showed herself to be ill equipped for her job. She was supposed to unite her listeners, not divide them further. Or??? Maybe she was supposed to divide them???? Maybe that was her purpose, conscious or not?

(17,651 posts)Including the head cheese has done very, very little to clean it up.
The problems have excisted for years and years. By not working to hold clean elections and elections the majority of the public have confidence in, the Democrats are as corrupt as the Republicans.
Weakness or complacency, the excuses don't matter now. In either situation, the Democratic party has lost nearly every bit of credibility and has proven it can not be entrusted to keep even its own party's election process clean.
Truth be known, the U.N. should be overseeing our elections, including the in-party elections.

It didn't happen, so no votes were stolen.
