This train is derailing and its time to figure out an alternative mode of transportation.

(29,257 posts)She wasn't even a good candidate before. Now? Now she's like that moldy, mushy banana that no one wants to eat.

(34,845 posts)Make banana bread. Since Clinton is clearly our next President -or even if you don't think that's true- it behooves us to work with the material at hand. We should all be pulling for a win in November. If you don't like Clinton, at least hedge your bets by stopping all the trash-talk.

(29,257 posts)When all alternatives are gone I will indeed support Hillary against Trump.
Until then, better start looking at alternatives.

(2,064 posts)sure Lucky Lucciano ran the Mafia from inside the joint, but I doubt Hillary possesses Lucky's leadership & managerial skills.
Hopefully she'll pick Bernie for VP so he can take over once she's been removed from office.

Dan Metcalfe is a registered Democrat who has long said that he will vote for Hillary Clinton in November if she escapes indictment and manages to become the Democratic presidential nominee. He served as Director of the Justice Departments Office of Information and Privacy for more than 25 years, during which time he handled information-disclosure policy issues on the dozens of Clinton Administration scandals that arose within public view, as well as two that did not. Since retiring in 2007, he has taught secrecy law at American Universitys Washington College of Law.

(16,104 posts)Does anyone truly think that the first thing the person charged with managing all foreign relations for the United States will do is spend a few months reading the equivalent of an encyclopedia for administrative and technical rules, rather than expecting the staff members charged with those responsibilities to handle it? (Also note that because of the amount of information involved, those duties are divided up among a large number of offices in the department.) Do people believe these officials are sophisticated enough to know anything about email other than how to type? (Clinton is a notorious technological imbecile, and Powell still has an AOL email account.) The absurdity of this beliefwhich Democrats seem to believe only applies to a Republican and Republicans seem to believe only applies to a Democratis so self-evident that it is astonishing there are people who espouse it with such vehemence.

(31,849 posts)there are an equal number of equally qualified experts saying it is a ginned up tempest in a tea pot. That's the beauty/bane of the law ... and like it or not, for better or worse, in the real world (and in every part of our real lives), politics plays a part.

(29,257 posts)Now show ME a legal expert that dismisses it as nothing that is neither an advocate for Hillary or for Sanders but who is a registered Democrat.

(31,849 posts)it reinforces the thought that what I see as denial and projection is flipped when looked at from your position. No?
There is was an excellent legal analysis by a well qualified attorney, national security expert posted by DemocratSinceBirth. I will try to re-find it.

When I take you out in the surrey,
When I take you out in the surrey with the fringe on top!
Watch that fringe and see how it flutters
When I drive them high steppin' strutters.
Nosey folks'll peek through their shutters and their eyes will pop!
The wheels are yeller, the upholstery's brown,
The dashboard's genuine leather,
With isinglass curtains y' can roll right down,
In case there's a change in the weather.
Two bright sidelight's winkin' and blinkin',
Ain't no finer rig I'm a-thinkin'
You c'n keep your rig if you're thinkin' 'at I'd keer to swap
Fer that shiny, little surrey with the fringe on the top!
