Clinton: I expect Sanders to call for unity, Sanders: Democratic Convention Will Be Contested

Clinton: I expect Sanders to call for unity after Tuesday
KYLE CHENEY
Politico

Clinton said that in 2008, some supporters urged her to battle Barack Obama to the convention but noted that she decided to cede to Obama rather than fight because they shared similar policy goals and values. When this year’s primary season largely ends Tuesday, she said, “I expect Senator Sanders to do the same.”

That would enable the party, she added, “to go to the convention in a unified way.”

Sanders predicts Democratic convention will be contested

"It is extremely unlikely that Secretary Clinton will have the requisite number of pledged delegates to claim victory on Tuesday night," Sanders said. "Now I have heard reports that Secretary Clinton has said it's all going to be over on Tuesday night. I have reports that the media, after the New Jersey results come in, are going to declare that it is all over. That simply is not accurate."

"Hillary Clinton wants small, incremental changes. We want to transform this nation," Sanders said as the Coliseum's flaming cauldron torch lit up the sky.

Sanders told reporters by the end of the primaries on June 14 neither candidate would have enough pledged delegates to declare victory and would be dependent upon superdelegates to reach the magic number. "In other words, the Democratic National Convention will be a contested convention," he said.

The Democratic Party will keep progressives out of the White House, but we're going down punching. Give 'em hell Bernie.

e.g., MSNBC To the deniers... Watch THIS Video... It is not comforting to think that she may well be the Democratic Nominee...

Hillary really betrayed Andrea Mitchell... The entire context of this report was of a solemn nature... A Funeral so to speak...

Andrea Mitchell "I do not see this report as ...ANYTHING BUT... DEVASTATING!"

Chuck Todd "After this I don't think that she could get confirmed for Attorney General!"

Lots of FIBBING by Hillary here.. for more than a year!

This is why I will not support her. Policy goals and values. hers reek, and are pretty much opposite of Bernie's values and goals.
I do expect to see reams of putrid sophistry, trying to conflate Hillary on the issues with Bernie on the issues. Won't work.

Dream on, Hillary - I will not support a Third Way warmonger. No matter how nicely asked or crudely threatened. Those days are over.

They both want to make college affordable.

They both want to raise taxes on Wall Street and the richest Americans.

They both want to expand health care.

They've both voted for wars and intervention in the past.

How does that qualify as "pretty much opposite"? They even voted together 93% of the time.

(Ecept for that part about Bernie supporting intervention. he supported the troops, and did not want to scuttle a mission he objected to but was already underway. And his earlier votes were not to invade Iraq.)

To do, as she did in 2008, the right thing and concede and work to unify the party and endorse the rightful nominee would require him to get off the pedestal he's been perched upon and give up all the adoring crowds and hero worship he's been basking in. Bernie enjoys feeling like a god too much to do that sooner than he absolutely has to. Demagogues aren't capable of the level of grace Hillary Clinton demonstrated in 2008 when she nominated Barack Obama from the convention floor.

After he had amassed the delegates he needed to win she refused to concede to BO and after four days
of arm-twisting and haranguing for all she could get, she got on board because otherwise she would not
have gotten squat. She's not a team player, never has been, never will be. She ran a dirty cam-
paign against both Obama and Sanders. She sux.
