And not the pleasant types of Republicans at all. Low diversity area and therefore produces a lot of racists.

Once the logging industry was decimated, unemployment shot up and it was downhill from there.

I've been up that way often to go hiking and camping in the Trinity Alps.

It is, uhm . . . . rural.

Redding is certainly Trump country. I don't believe he had any protestors, perhaps one if I'm remembering an article correctly, even attempt to go to his rally there.

I used to visit friends often in a little farm town in the Sacramento Valley, and the place was basically Mississippi with slightly better roads and an oppressed working class of a different color.

Inland California can be very, very right wing.
