The race is over, you say. Yes. Yes it is. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't make your voice heard. Do your patriotic duty. Support the candidate of your choice, even if he has already lost, or she has already won.

(68,576 posts)I would probably only vote if there were down ticket people running...what is the point? Hillary is the presumptive nominee. I guess I want to see her trounce Sanders because he has not conceded but other than that...

(13,340 posts)The primaries have been effectively over by the time I got a chance to cast a ballot. But I think it is important to register your vote. I don;t much like our primary system, but I think it's important to participate in the primary process.

(4,187 posts)When you don't vote, it's the same as if you didn't exist or couldn't vote.
Moreover, if all Hillary supporters think like you, Bernie will win, and his supporters will use that to diminish Hillary's victory.
Please go out and vote.

I knew I was replying to a Hillary supporter. (I'm also a Hillary supporter.) I was pointing out that if all Hillary voters decided that their vote didn't matter, Bernie would have won, and that would have reduced the legitimacy of Hillary's nomination.
(You did say, "I would probably only vote if there were down ticket people running...what is the point?", which implies you were thinking of not voting.)
Anyway, congratulations for making your voice heard!
