(10,500 posts)But I am terrified of a Trump victory. I have seen Republicans lie their way to victory too many times.

(2,542 posts)Is there something about which you might have a guilty conscience?
Because unless you were someone who was posting polls showing Trump in the lead as an excuse to express So Much Concern about the election, it would not make much sense for you to assume it's about you.
I'm confused why you think my comment requires your rebuttal of an accusation that no one made.
StevieM
(10,500 posts)I thought it was anyone who expresses fear that the GOP could win this election.
I didn't think you were accusing me of anything. I was just offering an explanation as to why someone might put up posts expressing worry about how the campaign is going.

(32,886 posts)They put out some garbage press release a few years back that said its controversial to structure your sample to mimic what the population is in terms of party preference and the rest. It's not controversial. Everyone else does it but Rasmussen because its the right way to get an accurate reading.

(4,311 posts)A conservative outfit. Basically, if she's tied with Trump in a Rasmussen poll, she's beating Trump's ass in reality.

Why was Obama McCain as close as it was?

(53,032 posts)a five point lead is a blow out. Anyone who has paid any attention in previous general elections should know that.
Moreover, polls at this stage are meaningless. They won't start to be relevant until the fall. They will certainly be tight because they always are. General elections are close in the US, and have been every year since the Reagan era.

(1,122 posts)I dont think a convention is a good month to take national and state-after-state presidential polls seriously. Each party usually gets a convention bounce. They dont predict the outcome for Election Day.

(8,052 posts)but I won't breathe easy until Hillary wins this in a thumping landslide.
What I've seen these past days scares me. The thought of a Trump presidency has me absolutely terrified.
We HAVE to win this one. The alternative is just too horrible.

(51 posts)that they play. Showing Trump up by 7 as they last did, it would be hard to add points for a "convention bounce" so they needed to get it back to nearly even. Now they can go back to 6 or 7 point Trump lead and claim it's because he got the bounce.

(3,867 posts)I have friends who I consider reasonably intelligent (not so sure of it now) who are maggot supporters.
I do send them links, mainly the maggot in his own words, I doubt it makes a difference.
I started doing it because they sent me right wing stuff that were just lies, I do send back the Snopes fact ck. But they have already sent the lie to all their friends & I doubt they pass on the fact ck.
We laughed & laughed & said the psychotic know nothing bully could not possibly be president.
Every insulting, untrue, disgusting thing he said, we kept thinking, this is it, he's finished.
Now the only thing between us & disaster is Hillary.
we need more smilies like WTF

The embarrassment of the convention scared the f*** out of them, so they corrected their sampling manipulation.

(19,066 posts)But Reuters has narrowed the other way, not is Hillary by only 5.
This is the week of the RNC, if Hillary comes out of this week up in all or all but 1 or 2 of the polls it's a huge victory. Hillary is going to get a 3-5 point bump from the DNC.
