Trump could be allergic to the trash reputedly built into the stage, the elaborate stage could fail in a dozen ways, the crowd could be too hung over and exhausted to participate, anti-Trump Republicans may have something planned, or best of all for us, the teleprompter could fail and Trump would happily wing it rather than cut his losses.

I should add that one of the things I fully expect to see is a planted "disruptor," who will be dragged out early in the speech. Mussolini reputedly used to do that, and Trump really likes that guy.
