Sure. Yes. I assumed that, very unlike Trump's convention, we would be showing off those who epitomize the best of America and what Democrats stand for. That's why I asked. What don't I know about him?

He's a fine man, obviously, a "winner" as Trump would say, but did he and his twin pull themselves up from a dreadful beginning in an orphanage? Does he teach reading to troubled teenagers? What's the message to America here?

If we gave a slot to a teacher, it'd be someone who was a wonderful role model for teachers and teaching, a shining example of high aspirations for education of our children.

Jarron Collins: I've never been more proud of my brother

He was very simple and matter-of-fact.

"Jarron, I'm gay."

"You're what?"

I won't lie. I had no idea. We talked, he answered my questions, I hugged him and I digested what he had told me. At the end of the day, this is what matters: He's my brother, he's a great guy, and I want him to be happy. I'll love him and I'll support him and, if necessary, I'll protect him.

my top five. But then, I only knew the major things about him - NOT his creds/experience in Spanish-speaking communities and NOT how personally involved he and his wife BOTH have been in re social justice matters, education and gun control.

He's a sterling choice! But then, I expected nothing less from Our Candidate!

But I have seen instances of haters having to hate on DU today - fortunately many of them are having their posts removed.
