(3,649 posts)And they're not booing Bernie. That's media spin. I watched that address, and it's clear they're booing Hillary/Kaine.

(42,862 posts)... they actually wonder why it is that they are held in such contempt, so frequently ridiculed, and seldom taken very seriously.
Go figure.

(6,437 posts)More of Bernie's desires are included in this year's platform than any other platform in the Democratic Party history. If they can't recognize how much more they gain by Clinton winning in November, then they have no fucking clue what Bernie was actually fighting for.

(37,428 posts)This what it's supposed to look like, folks. Delegates come to cheer on their own and maybe boo the opposition. We just forget this in the years when there is one pre-anointed candidate.
By the end, we will be united. This is hardly 1968.

(37,428 posts)We are about to have a great nominee who will lead, and we will go out and win.

(58,785 posts)The Democratic Party's problem isn't these passionately engaged supporters, it's all the Democrats who may not bother to vote because they're NOT engaged.
HerbChestnut
(3,649 posts)You really sure? Because what I just saw today makes me think otherwise.
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)to eagerly engage in the process and be heard.
The noisy engagement at our convention is very different from the malice and hate so constantly demonstrated against us at the Republican convention.
auntpurl
(4,311 posts)How is that different from the malice and hate at the RNC?

(58,785 posts)His delegates? What proportion?
I still stand with all the Bernie supporters who have decided to vote for Clinton and Kaine and won't insult them by nastily insinuating that THESE people represent them.
auntpurl
(4,311 posts)His delegates chanted LOCK HER UP in several meetings.
His delegates hounded DWS off the stage (yes, it was stupid for her to get ONstage, but still).
His delegates booed at EVERY MENTION of Hillary's name in Bernie's speech and would not let him continue because they were screaming.
I mean obviously, #notalldelegates, and I CANNOT TELL YOU how much I appreciate Bernie supporters who can see the actual life and death f*cking DANGER posed by Donald Trump and who will vote for her and not DESTROY our convention. But the vocal minority are helping Trump, and they are doing it in EXACTLY the same way the Republicans did. By expressing rage and hate for Hillary Clinton.
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)and the tea party/trumpsters, well known to psychologists, are obviously on full display. Despicable people.

(28,342 posts)They're not Democrats and they shouldn't BE at our convention.
The REAL Bernie supporters and Democrats should be allowed to stay, welcomed and celebrated! The hateful jack-offs with lips frothing with hate for our nominee should be ejected, immediately.
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)The ones Bernie couldn't control when speaking elsewhere won't be in the convention hall, at least.

(68,868 posts)for Clinton, nor are they Democrats.
They belong to the Crazy People party, and they merely impersonated Democrats for the purpose of trashing our convention and helping Trump win.
They belong at the fart-in, not the convention.
They are the enemy, and they were allowed inside the gates.

(58,785 posts)When people tell you they are angry at the party but are going to vote Democrat anyway, imo both courtesy and common sense suggest they should be believed.
geek tragedy
(68,868 posts)They aren't Democrats, they're Green Party trolls who infiltrated our party by getting themselves named delegates.
Show them the door.
We need closed primaries to keep these scumbags out. They're not going to vote for our nominee in the general election, so they should absolutely be barred from voting in our primary.
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)to what most are cheering. Sure, there are some hostile rabble come to disrupt. What did we expect? Bernie set out to pad his support by drawing them in, so no surprise, but they are not the majority. Unfortunate that he was unable to inspire his followers into drowning the others out.
geek tragedy
(68,868 posts)The majority of Sanders supporters wouldn't boo him.
But the assholes who did are not on our side, they have never been on our side, and they will never be on our side.
Green Tea is still Tea.
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)and throw capital letters and exclamation points also, do we?
Would people dropping by this forum be able to pick out the difference between Hillary's liberals and these others? I really wish they could.

(4,311 posts)they would NEVER vote for Hillary. Said she should be in prison.
They're not passionately engaged, they're there for a hatefest. As it stands now, our nominee will be booed from the minute she gets onstage until the minute she's hounded off. America will see a Democratic party who HATES their nominee. We could lose this election. I didn't think that until today.
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)come down with Norovirus, be ejected.
I'm talking about those of Bernie's supporters who are voting Democrat, even if they aren't thrilled. They're there too.
