The McClatchy poll is absolutely brutal to Trump

https://www.scribd.com/document/320225575/McClatchy-Marist-Poll-National-Nature-of-the-Sample-and-Tables-August-2016

Obama approval at +13 (it was +0 a year ago)
Country going in the wrong direction at +25 (it was +43 a month ago)
90% of Democrats say they will support their party's ticket vs. 79% of Republicans
Independents break for Clinton by 6 points (37/31)
Clinton leads households making less than $50K by 15 points, and > $50K by 19 points
Clinton leads every age group except 60+ by double digits, and 60+ she leads by 8
Clinton leads men by 12 points, women by 20
Trump takes white voters 41/39 (much worse than Romney did with whites)
Clinton leads among African Americans by 91 points (yes, really: not 91 to something: 93 to 2) and among Latinos by 29 points
Also, Clinton leads landline interviewees by 4, and cell phone interviewees by 24
The only crosstab Trump won was military veterans

Interestingly, the July poll had Clinton up by just 3 points, 42 to 39. Clinton's support has risen 6 points, and Trump's has fallen 6 points ("other" and "neither" are basically unchanged)

This tells us that as of now, our focus absolutely needs to be turnout. Get every single person we can to the polls in November.

Things that can be done to GOTV:

-- Make sure that your own voting registration is in order. NOW!!!!! Don't wait until the last minute. If you voted in the primaries, you are likely OK. But it doesn't hurt to verify this. Some states have arcane and obtuse voting requirements.

-- Make sure that you know where your local voting place is situated and note the times and date(s) that place will be open. If early voting is a possibility, check that out too. Communicate this information to as many voters as you can on a personal level and have them confirm that their own voter registration conforms with state requirements.

-- Check in your immediate neighborhood for anyone who has any kind of physical difficulty (transportation/disability), etc.) either in registering to vote if they have not already done do or making it to the polls to vote and either help out yourself or arrange for others to help out with you.

-- To continue with and expand the second suggestion, contact your local office of the Dem party and see whether they are having registration drives and/or organizing rides to the polls for those who have difficulty. Find out how your own neighbors can be included and volunteer to help in any way that you can.

-- Phone-bank for all Dem candidates, including Hillary. Make sure that you include a question about whether the voter(s) need assistance in getting to the polls and what the difficulties are. Make a note of such individuals and what their problems are. Communicate this information to the local Dem party.

-- To follow through on the above suggestion, see what arrangements the local Dem party is already making to get voters to the polls and volunteer time yourself if you are in a position to do so.

-- See what arrangements have been made by the local Dem party to assist voters with disabilities. If none, suggest something feasible and volunteer to help follow through.

-- Arrange to help out with babysitting/ daycare for parents who would otherwise either have to haul their children to the polls with them.

Etc., etc., etc. It's not enough just to keep saying GOTV. One must actually help to accomplish that in some meaningful way.

Behind Clinton, Johnson, and Stein.

That seems like a very positive sign.

Put districting in the hands of independent commissions, permanently.

7. Early Vote

Texas has early voting and if you early vote you don't have to find a particular place to vote, at least in Houston. You can vote at any of a number of places around town. I always early vote because then I don't have to worry about finding my polling place.
