State by state ballot access deadlines for the presidential general election vary.

To get ballot access, political parties must meet those deadlines. What are those deadlines? You can see them here:

https://ballotpedia.org/Ballot_access_for_presidential_candidates

Scroll down to the table for the general election. The deadlines for primaries are at the top of the page. In some cases, as in Michigan, New Jersey and Illinois, the deadline for certification and ballot access has already passed, in others, it happens very soon. Go have a look for yourself, and check your own state's deadline.

One is a swing state, North Carolina and the other a red state, Arizona.

Michigan, Illinois and New Jersey have deadlines right after the conventions. I don't see any way for re-certification to take place in those states.

I don't think it's actually possible for Trump to leave at this point and have his name replaced on those ballots. Others have today as a deadline and still more have August 9 as the deadline.

The GOP is royally screwed by its own candidate. C'est pour rire, as they say in France.
