(9,148 posts)Imagine the possibilities for a couple of egomaniac opportunists like Putin & Trump.
Thanks for posting

(4,311 posts)You know what I was thinking about when I watched this? I was thinking I'm sort of glad the election season is so INTERMINABLY long in the US. All of this information keeps coming out in waves (of course we political junkies have known about it for a long time, but the general public probably hasn't) and it allows a candidate to be FULLY vetted before people have to make their decision. The campaign to Leave or Remain in the EU (Brexit) was 4 months. 4 months (and really only 6 weeks of full campaigning) for people to make a decision that would have MOMENTOUS consequences for Britain and Europe. People were completely ill-informed for Brexit - the number one Google search the day after the referendum was "What happens when UK leaves the EU?". Second-highest search was "What is the EU?" I mean, really.
So I'm glad (even though I find it exhausting) that the US has such a long election season and has the opportunity to really get to know these candidates before they have to make such a big decision.
Sorry, off-topic, this ad is amazing! I hope they run it on TV - I think The Briefing ones are normally just for online.

(14,856 posts)The Russian paid internet trolls are well known.
It also wouldn't surprise me at all if Russia has upgraded the attacks to include artificial intelligence bots that are programmed to disseminate anti-American and pro-Putin commentary. It's now known that the USA has used it against other countries for propaganda purposes, so it seems plausible to me that Russia is using the same technology. It's cheaper in the long run than paying numerous actual people to do it.
I saw an article about Putin on Yahoo over a year ago, and the comment section was FULL of pro-Putin and anti-Obama remarks.
Knowing Trump's affinity for the internet, that nonsense might have influenced his idiot brain as well.

(62,276 posts)So that doesn't bother me.
This is propaganda I can get behind:
The pro Russian sentiment comes from an anti American view first and foremost, it doesn't matter that Russia is regressing.

(15,882 posts)Some folks just can't get enough of it.They've never done anything to me, and I don't need someone new to hate, so your stuff has about the same effect as the toilet paper ads.
Oh, and just because I think it appears he will say anything for whatever compensation he thinks is valuable, it doesn't mean those aren't really good trash bags. I take care of several dogs, and you can probably empathize - what with peddling all this "red scare" nonsense - what handling a lot of dogshit is like, and what happens if the bag might break.
Oh, what a mess. So a good trash bag is important, and his bringing that message is as well.

(28,270 posts)Anyone that's been paying attention knows that something is going on between Trump and Putin/Russia.
Trump is a national security threat, bottom line.
The republican party is full of traitors who spit on the graves of American war heroes.
Trump is just the latest example.

(10,839 posts)Brutal is right. And well deserved, IMO. I agree with the comment upthread--the longer the campaign goes on, the more 'stuff' on Trump emerges. The more 'stuff' emerging and reinforced, the deeper The Donald sinks in his own quicksand. This pro-Putin connection is particularly toxic and profoundly dangerous.

This video makes a compelling argument that Cheeto is aligned and supported by Putin. We need to spread this wide and far.
